Question

My son & i are going to Sicily in Nov. to visit my fathers home town of Mistretta.  Will be there a week.  I am looking for reasonably priced restaurants in the area.  We will be staying  about 2 KM from Castel di Tusa.  We will have a car. The place we are staying wants 35 Euros PP for dinner. Is that about average ?  Also could use some suggestions about places to visit.  Really do not know if any relatives are left in Mistretta  so we might have time to sightsee historic spots.

Castel di Tusa is a lovely little town, but there’s not much in the area.

Your price for dinner sounds like a typical rate at an agriturismo with multi-courses.

Have you considered Masseria Maggiore? This masseria is wonderful and the meals are authentic and phenomenal!!!

Masseria Maggiore in Pettineo on Sicily’s northern coast – Rosalba is an amazing cook and this is ‘real’ Sicily.

In addition to Cefalù and the Madonie, you could day trip to Agrigento’s Valley of the Temples, or take the train to Palermo. Visit the Duomo in Monreale by bus from Palermo.
