Pisa to Capalbio

We are visiting Capalbio for a wedding in Sept but wanted to fly into Pisa and then on to Capalbio. Any suggestions on the best way to do this? Or how long the journey will be? Thanks!

If you have a look at a map of Italy, you will see that Rome (Fiumicino) airport is closer than Pisa.

From either airport, I would think by far the best way of getting to this village would be by rental car. You can get driving directions, rather optimistic times, and estimated costs (fuel and tolls) from www.viamichelin.com

By train, look at times on http://www.trenitalia.com/homepage_en.html from either Pisa Airport or Fiumicino Airport to Capalbio. A change is required in each case, either at Pisa Centrale or at Roma Trastevere.

While travelling via Rome is thirty minutes or so faster, it might be more relaxing to go via Pisa as this avoids the madness of the vast Fiumicino Airport and of trains within Rome.

These trains are Regional trains with no advance reductions or reserved seats. For fares, use a date this week as fares for these trains are NA online more than seven days in advance. Buy your tickets at the airport train station.

Note that the station is 8.5 km for the village, so you will need a lift once you get there from some other guests with a car. I doubt that taxis are readily available.
