Has anyone booked through Algotels.com? I found them through trivago and they have taken my money and not honored their cancellation deadlines. Also, their website, phone number and email all do not work. It has been a nightmare.

Guessing they are a similar 3rd or 4th party booker.

Do you have a copy of the part on their website’s booking page (not the hotel’s but this site’s) where it says you can cancel this?
Or would the hotel cancel by their terms but this company refuses to cancel as it is a non refundable booking?
In addition to whatever information you have on your reservation confirmation you could look at your credit card charge to see what company actually has your money and then try contacting them.
The FAQs on algotel website says you can sometimes cancel reservations directly with the hotel. Have you tried that?
You should also be aware there is a time limit on filing a credit card chargeback. If you are still able to submit a timely chargeback with your credit card company you should do that before your time period to file elapses.
I can't remember ever having heard of this company before. If I came across them on Trivago, Google or anywhere else the very first thing I would do is look into them. then I expect I would run away.
But I would still like to know exactly what happened.
I booked a room last night in Golden BC, changed the date during the booking process to the next day, and the site put me back to the original date. Took my credit card, and processed the wrong date.
I sent an email within 5 minutes and phoned them as well.
They said it would take 24 to 48 hours on the phone to see if they could make the change.
Apparently they do that so you cannot cancel the transaction on your credit card in time.
I received an email saying they have strict rules and cannot change the reservation.
I called the hotel and they have a room for that night but algotels has to make the change.
The deal is the same for the date I wanted.
I clicked this deal through the Trivago site.

Do a charge back with you credit card … stop chasing the imaginary cheep price fairy and only book direct with the hotel.
Yes, you could ask your card company to help you but it may come down to your word against theirs. As in you say they processed the wrong date and they say it was your mistake during the booking process. If so, if you have any evidence in support of what you say it would be very useful.
I see this as yet another example of how booking direct is simpler, if only because you only have one set of contract terms to think about.
Don't do it!
They don't want to even think about working with you!
