We were twice in this restaurant during our visit the service was fast and the food was a good portion and tasty. My favorite was the 3 different meats in potato pancakes and the fish looked also delicious. We were very satisfied here.
Absolute disaster. Restaurant was almost full when we arrived. No waiter greeted us or said anything. We found one available table. It took more than 30 minutes just to see one waiter. He did not say anything but served meal to people behind us. They...were already angry about food. Then my friend decided catch someone and ask for menu card. After nobody showed for next 10 minutes, he decided to write down our requests on the paper and he went to pass it to waiter. After another at least 10 minutes waiter came to our table to provide cultery and juice. No greeting us, just showed up like nothing happened. Meantime many people were walking around us to find the toilet. (no signs to find toilet). I also heard a woman coming to the desk with angry face and asking if there is anyone who could serve them as they were waiting for 30 minutes. Then our meals arrived. My pasta was OK, but other was cold inside. The only positive was the look of restaurant. This restaurant is one of the worst I have ever experienced in the whole world and it is shame for our country in the very touristy area. The owner should be arrested for making very bad name of local restaurants. Of course I will never get back there again..More
We have visited the Toliar restaurant several times in the past years. The chef gets more lazy every year it seems :(
Our soups were rather flavourless, main course meh. However the worst part of our latest experience was the service, very unpleasant. We are...central European girls used to bad service standards, so go figure.
Last but not least, they dont accept card payments. Will not visit them again :(More
We arrived at the restaurant at 8.45 pm. Knowing that usually kitchens in Slovakia close soon, we asked a waitress who was smoking outside of the restaurant (btw nice welcome to clients!!!) if we could enter to eat and she confirmed we could. So we...chose an empty table and sat there. After 5 minutes, nobody came to us to bring menus therefore I went next to the bar to pick them up myself and again NOBODY asked me if I needed anything. After 10 minutes of waiting again, we just decided o stand up and leave. Funny thing is that waiters saw us leaving from the bar but nobody dared to ask anything. Is it how you usually treat your clients? Maybe you should take example from the restaurant in front of you Furkotka because the service there was very good as was the food!More
We tought we must try the Slovakian kitchen,so we went for Hotel Toliar Slovakian restaurant. We had 4 mains un 4 drinks. All main meals were dry, over cooked. The lamb rimbs was very very dry,the stout - even couldn’t say if that was really stout, too over cooked, pork chops-dry...and again - over cooked,chicken-over cooked and dry.Got the bill around 80€ and it wasn’t worth it!Just avoid that place!More
We have ordered 4 meals. 3 of them were below-average and 1 was terrible! I asked for beef steak (medium)- firstly, it was very well done not medium, then the meat smelled a bit wierd, in the end it was definetelly not 200g! For 16,50e...I would expect much more. And what is worst? They did not even prodive discount! Well, if I stip away from two small cakes as a compensation :)More
Just had dinner at the restaurant at Hotel Toliar. I had trout with mushrooms, speck, onion and red cabbage and husband had potatoe dumplings filled with smoked meat and onion on a bed of sauerkraut and bacon. Delicious and under 14 euro for both. Topped...off with local Slovakian beer and we couldn’t fit in dessert. Friendly and attentive waiter who spoke English.More
We visited restaurant Toliar for drinks only. It is a nice place and pleasure to have drinks there. Service was very good and waiter very helpful. We sit in the "winter garden" area - decorated in typical Slovak way - seats covered with sheep furs...and traditional Slovak decorations. It created very pleasant atmosphere and we enjoyed our evening there.More
