After a 3 mile walk on the Grantham Canal we had a Sunday lunch at The Plough. The food was tasty and well prepared and service was fairly smart. What stood out was the welcome - we were fitted in without a formal booking. Good range of draft bitters inc. St Austell Tribute.

I view this pub as our local, it's free and easy, not pretentious, relaxed and cosy and we come here a lot whether it's with friends, as a family or just the two of us for a bite to eat. We've been here for birthdays, Christmas (on boxing day) and other celebrations! The food is fabulous, homemade and very tasty... More

We haven't been to this pub for a good couple of years but popped in today after a drive out. The pub has been decorated since we were last there and the restaurant was much brighter and fresher. My husband ordered a 'steakwich' and I had a Stilton and red onion confit salad - when they arrived we were amazed... More

Lovely pub, very friendly staff and brilliant food, especially Pie night on Wednesday's! We are always made to feel very welcome, even with our two dogs.

This pub was midway on a long walk and we were looking forward to a drink and a bowl of soup. Service was really slow despite it being a quiet lunchtime. It took 25 minutes for our soup to arrive, after having to remind them we were still waiting. When the soup finally came it was luke warm and had... More

Don't be taken in by the Plough's unassuming exterior. This place is a gem in a sleepy village in the Vale of Belvoir. I last came here over 15 years ago. Then it was just about OK, but now it's streets ahead of that. Before this latest visit I felt that the current TripAdvisor reviews were almost too good to... More

This is a lovely country pub, with no false horsebrasses etc. Even a pub dog to trip over. Opposite Notting and Grantham Canal basin, so walking and fishing available. The towpath here looked wheelchair/pushchair friendly at least into the seeable distance. Cheerful atmosphere, dog friendly. Food very reasonably priced with good choice. It was served quickly (we were late in,... More

This was my first visit for food and is was a superb experience. There were 5 people in our party and we all had different starters and main courses! Everyone enjoyed the food immensely and the service was personal and attentive. I had the fish pie which was excellent and a really good portion size. We will definitely return and... More
