Incredible location in the historical center of the city, right in the ancient heart of Venosa. The ingredients were fresh and local, the food delicious and the portions abundant. Service was prompt and kind, we really had a lovely time! We’ll be sure to come...back on our next visit! Very affordable especially considering the quality and location!More

We had Saturday lunch at Baliaggio while recently visiting our cousins in nearby Rionero in Vulture. The restaurant was full, but not overcrowded. There were six of us and we were immediately seated. However, once seated, it took a long time to receive menus and...even longer for our orders to be taken. When the food finally arrived, everyone seemed happy with their orders, which ranged from pastas to meat. The wine was good, as were the desserts. Prices were quite modest.More

We were staying above the restaurant but walked around first to come back to end up eating a really great meal! Mixed local antipasti was impressive followed by grilled sliced beef & I had fried fish which was calamari & prawns. All followed by the...dessert of the house a pistachio pastry with a creamy filling that was mouth watering delicious. Considering our lack of Italian the waiter was brilliant. All large portions I might add. Recommend.More

The restaurant has been remodeled and looks much better than TA picture. We arrived in Venosa around 4:00 pm and stayed at Hotel Orazio in the same building. Went to restaurant to make a dinner reservation and had the good fortune of meeting cheff who...said that "he would take care of us". At dinner time, we had a short conversation and he began sending wonderful dishes of antipasti of various types (like tapas) hand made pasta and glorious lamb chops. The bottle of Aglianico red was superb and only 20 E. Total bill only 87 E including wine and service for the two of us. Inexpensive for a memorable feast. Highly reccommended.More
