Went to The Ship tonight (2nd) for my birthday and was extremely impressed with it. It has a lovely warm, homely atmosphere. The staff are friendly, welcoming and very helpful,. The food is fantastic, the best we've had in a long time. Absolute value for money, especially when you see the portion sizes, we were too full for dessert. Definitely... More

All i can say is excellent. The staff were so nice & attentive, the food was amazing. Almost all of us went for the rib of beef special & it was just as good as the best Sunday roasts i've had. The decor is nice and welcoming as well and the toilets were clean. I will definitely be coming back.

We got some money for Christmas as a couple so we decided to go for a nice meal out. We live in the village and have visited before as part of a large group. This time we got a warm welcome by the friendly lady behind the bar. The waiting staff need a bit more confidence but this will come... More

We went for Sunday lunch, with friends, we were a late booking, but had booked in advance. We had heard a lot of good reports, so we were hopeful. Beautifully done up, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. We can't fault the surroundings, log fires, cosy seating, fresh flowers, really it is vey thing this area is much... More

Lovingly restored pub with bags of charm & character along with a lovely log burner ideal on a cold winters day like today. The food was home cooked to a high standard and very very tasty, all served by wonderful, friendly, professional staff and never pushy which is a plus for anyone. This is only my 2nd visit and certainly... More

Table booked for Sunday lunch, was difficult reserving a table so close to Christmas. Our friends have been before so it was recommended to us. We were not disappointed, I chose the turkey, everything was good that was on my plate, only complaint was the vegetables were too hard, I am not a lover of rock hard brussels. My husband... More

We were in the area and happened to stumble across The Ship Inn after taking a wrong turn and we were pleasantly surprised. The outside was well presented and tidy and after walking through the door the inside was too. It appeared to have been recently renovated and was very nicely decorated. The staff were very pleasant and polite and... More

I've visited this pub a few times now with it being local. I would like too say the hostess gave me and the others a warm welcome, but sadly felt that this place as beautiful as it has become really lacks the " The hostess with the mostess"! We are, along with others local people who would love to use... More
