we booked a table and went as a team of 12 people over christmas and NY.... and i appreciate the "chilled vibe" but having placed a drinks order it took 35 min to come (after chasing and repeating the order 3 times!) and then an...hour to take a food order, that then took an hour to come and then placed more drinks orders that took an age to come and then tried to order wine to save the delay (slow service) that took an age to come etc..... so, in short, great setting, ok food, slow service but the night before we had great music and drinks on the beach (again.... very slow). go with slow in mind you will be fine..... (in the end we just ordered buckets of beer!)More

The good: 2 for 1 margharitas in happy hour. We ate here when it was empty and had the prawn curry which was good although very expensive. Came again for the Mexican night but waited 2 hours for a bean salad and 3 fajitas which...tasted of ketchup and were undercooked. Apparently our order was lost even though only 4 tables were taken. the waitress and waiter were embarassed and trying their best. We asked for a discount, none given, no free drinks etc. to recompense the 2 hour wait. Asked the locals who just said they wouldn't eat here as it's overpriced and at best average food. Drinks only at happy hour!More

Possibly the best tasting fish stock I’ve tasted for years. Clearly this chef knows what he’s doing. Deliciously executed barracuda dish. Lovely staff. Wonderful chef The beach bar is well... stay upstairs in the restaurant. Great place for a sundowner just stay on the upper...decks.More

Went here after reading good reviews ... definitely the worst place we have ever been, service was unprofessional (young boys with no training), food was awful, drinks orders never arrived and owner was very rude and abusive. Basic decor and very over prices for what...it is. Go next door to LoneStar for a great dining experience.More

Having enjoyed the usual culinory delights the platinum coast can offer e.g. Cliff, Tides, Lone Star amongst others, the Top Deck (50m along the beach from Lone Star - which we also love by the way) came as a refreshing surprise. Tonight we were entertained...by some great acoustic music by Chris Rocksteady, a lovely blackened barbequed peice of barracuda, some happy hour priced cocktails followed by rioja and minute wines and reasonable prices ... this place needs to be supported in these difficult times. It reminded me of an old school Barbados beach bar, ie great food, great music and great service, all it needs is more customers. All the staff were exemplary, with a special thanks to our waiter Charlie.More

We booked a table and stipulated which one. When we turned up it was the only table occupied. There were at least 3 staff behind the bar and we went to order a drink, they told us to sit down and we would be looked...after, then they all disappeared. It took ages to order a drink and then ages for the drinks to come. The napkins couldn't have been any thinner or cheaper and sadly the food was disappointing.More

We enjoyed many visits to Top Deck during our 6 week stay nearby. Fresh catch of the day, whether mahi mahi or barricuda was delicious, seafood pasta was very nice & the pizza was an unexpected treat as well as cheesecake for dessert. The atmosphere...is Carribbean casual, dining room overlooks the beach, they also have some picnic tables & bar at sand level. Staff were friendly, service was a little slow. However, we were in no hurry. We thought it was good value for our money, will return next year.More

We went for a Sunday brunch but was told the chef was not there and only the assistant chef would be only be able to make breakfast. The waitress was very friendly but seemed to be working very much on her own, as the other...waitress stood behind the bar not really wishing to approach us. We waited over an hour for 3 omelettes! We were the only people in the restaurant!! Will not be returning, and I am pretty sure that is why the place was empty.More

Very pleasant staff. Made good recommendations on the food choices. The fish cakes were great and I was pleasantly suprised with the side salad.

We ate here on our first day in Barbados and perhaps never had a better fish dish. This was mahi mahi delicately grilled and absolutely fresh from the sea. The service was friendly and efficient and the view perched just above the beach could not...have been more Caribbean. The price was eminently reasonable and it all added up to a very positive experience.More
