was disappointed - at R295 per head an excellent meal can be enjoyed at many other Langebaan restaurants. Mussels not properly cleaned and tasteless, Snoek overcooked and dry. Bread and coffee were good. the musician, Donny was great fun and kept the place lively. Standloper has all to offer for a great experience, but the food was below average. Would... More

Can get a bit chilly early evening, so go prepared. Take your cooler box and all you need is a pair of slip slops and a hair tie as it can get windy on the beach. Staff are pleasant and fun with live music from a local musician. Plenty food served in a traditional rustic fashion. Go have fun

This is a unique open air restaurant on the beach. You feel as though you've arrived on a deserted island. There is a smell of woodfires burning in preparation for the self service buffet-style lunch, which is mostly seafood. It is pricey for locals, R295 per person, but there were loads of foreigners enjoying the late afternoon on the beach... More

After hearing so many positive things about this restaurant over the last few years, we finally visited a while ago - much to our great disappointment and disgust. Starting with the most important part, food, the best that can be said that it was tasteless and of bad quality. The mussels were full of sand, most fish grilled dry with... More

Brilliant location right by the beach. Very rustic set up with wooden benches and tables that look like they have been made from driftwood. Great use of old boats and beach finds, to give it a great seaside theme. There are 6 courses, which differ in their quality. The fish stew and lamb stew were delicious. But we found the... More

HI Thank you very much for the feedback on your experience at Die Strandloper, we have taken note of your comments regarding the fish courses being over cooked and dry, and will do our best to ensure this does not occur again going foreword. 13 course menu on a beautiful beach in langebaan. This is a must do in the cape. 5 hour lunch with divine seafood. Basically cooked but mostly tasty. You take your own cooker bag with alcohol - no corkage. Have rustic tables . Fresh bread served throughout the day. All fish cooked in front of you on open fires. The... More

Wonderful hospitality! A variety of seafood and fish I have never tasted and would never normally order in a restaurant. As a non-fish eater I enjoyed angel fish! Being close to the ocean with sand under foot and seagulls ever present was an experience I would highly recommend. A definite for both local and overseas tourists.

Not just dining but an experience too. Fab setting, great relaxed environment. Bring a bottle with you (although i thought the bar is very reasonably priced for spirits and beers , the wine selection not massive and free corkage means most bring their own). Food amazing... just watch it being cooked and enjoy. Staff - wonderful. Thank you
