Fantastic reindeer, cozy warm restaurant with great service

We had traditional Finnish reindeer for a family dinner - very well cooked, good quality tasty meals for a reasonable price. The place is really nice with white tablecloths and candles. Great service. Recommended!

Delicious food, excellent service

Cale for an early dinner around 16:30 and were the only customers for a while, until more came after 17. I had reindeer fillet and the ladies. Had goat cheese chicken. We all felt that the dishes were delicious. And so were the desserts (ice creal, lemon sorbet, chocolate cake). The service was very friendly, and our allergies and preferences were considered in a nice manner.

We had a wonderful and delightfull diner at this perfect restaurant. Nice apperatives, fine food (steak was excellent) and cos athmosphere. The owner told us a lot about the surroundings and living in Finland. Thanks forva perfect evening and lasting memory!

All of us were greatly Disappointed. The ingredients were not prepared at the restaurant and many components came from a freezer. We really hope this restaurant space would be put to better use and fresh ingredients applied. The quality of the meat did not met the standard expected by the price tag (38€ plates...).

Hi, I am sorry but ONLY Reideer meat is frozen. No one can't get fresh Reideer meat in Spring time. We make everyting fresh!

Not the high point what it comes to tasty food

Our high expectations towards good food were not met. Lapland specialty Poronkäristys was a disappointment in size and flavour. So was the beef tenderloin. In such place you do not expect to have salmon in form of medallion so it was a miss too.

Bit better than a meal at a gasoline station

A little bit better than food at gasoline stations. Chocolate cake was like eating sawdust, had clearly been in the oven too long. Quite nice place though. If you want great food in Ylläsjärvi, head to Aurora estate.

Terrible service, food average

They gave wrong main course to one of us and did not regret, though took off the plate as this was a customers blame when I announced that give me new filee and we are fine. The attitude was under every limits, plenty of possibilities to fix it, when wanted. One first course was on table the whole evening though asked to take it away. No good, what comes to customer service.

Best meal of our trip

My wife and I stopped here for dinner our lone night in Yllasjarvi. We began with a mushroom soup and the salmon soup. I opted for the grilled reindeer liver while my wife had the salmon, and then we finished our meal with the squeaky cheese in cream and cloudberry jam. We also indulged in a couple of drinks, of which they had a nice selection. The entire meal from start to end was phenomenal and, from Rovaniemi to Kemi to Ivalo/Inari, was easily one of the best meals of our trip. Our host was very hospitable and passionate about the traditional Lappish meals, and really added to the experience.

Fantastic. All of our meals were of high standard. I ordered the reindeer inner fillet which was perfectly cooked, tender and flavoursome. No complaints from me.

We ate here twice during our three-day stay, which was also due to the proximity to our accommodation. The food is fresh and delicious, there is a large selection and there are also English cards. As everywhere in Scandinavia, paying by card is no problem.
