If you visit the Farm of San Ildefonso you should not leave without taste the typical dish of the area, farm beans, so special, large and tasty beans are produced there and can be found for sale in many local shops, this restaurant is one...of the best that knows how to cook and prepare this dish also served in the special clay casseroles where all its flavor is preserved, the restaurant is very elegant, central, decorated with local motifs, but it is not very large, so you have to reserve a table, especially if one goes with the family, you can taste other delicious specifics of the area such as oxtail, gratin eggplants, onions with bechamel, spicy chicken among others, and delicious desserts, the chocolate and cheesecakes with blueberries are exceptionalMore

Very bad experience. We expected a nice lunch after the good reviews, but it turn out to be very disappointing. Firstly, we ask for salad with goat cheese "rulo de cabra" but they gave us different kind of cheese. To be honest it wasn't bad,...but we had the feeling that they ran out of product and tried to trick us with something else. After that we ask for eggs with bechamel and quantity was absolutly ridiculous for a main. The worst came when we ask for a steak "entrecot", the most expensive dish in the menu and very famous in this area. We explicitly wanted to taste this as it is very famous, but it was bad, very though and not fresh. We don't recommend this place to any tourist.More

I had the opportunity to visit La Granja with a friend who has a home in La Granja and who mentioned that there was a very nice restaurant near the Parador with incredible food and reasonable prices. I thoroughly enjoyed the service, the atmosphere and...most of all, the food. As close to home cooking as you will find.More

A friend recommended us to try this place and she was not mistaken. They accommodated our large group (booking needed) in a spacious area. We ordered de judiones to start and then shared the famous cebollas, carrileras, entrecôte and chicken. Absolutely delicious! The cuajada was...also awesome!More

We went with our family to la Granja de San Idelfonso, and had lunch at the fabulous restaurant. The food was out of this world, you have to try the white beans and the stuffed meat balls. The staff went on and beyond to make...this a memorable experience.More

The restaurant offers a very good selection of the traditional local dishes, mainly meat. The different dishes were generous and top quality. Don’t go there if you are not hungry but expect to taste dishes from the area at their best.

Constant Companion and I were returning to Madrid after a 5 day hiatus cooking class in remote Spain. We decided to stop for the night in La Granja to see the Royal Palace, its fountains, and to eat at Casa Zaca. Sooooo very glad we...did-all three are remarkable. Our best friend made us lunch reservations and he drove up from Madrid to dine with us. Casa Zaca is in an old post house from which carriages departed for Madrid. It is a family run business now in its third generation. The restaurant is very cozy, warm, and inviting. We were seated in a lovely rear room and impeccably served throughout our visit. Known for "Los Judiones al estilo de la Granja" we ordered three servings. Judiones are large flat beans similar to Fava or Butter Beans but larger. The actual dish is remarkably tasty-unlike anything I have ever eaten. It was so good I still think of it two months later. We also Beef with Red Pepper and some Patatas Fritas. This may not seem like much but the Judiones serving is large and it is as filling as it is delicious! This is THE PLACE TO DINE in La Granja!More

Excellent food in a cozy atmosphere. The place hass many small rooms and corners. Don't miss the judiones (as a starter, you can share) and the stuffed onions. Desserts are also excellent.

Nothing fancy but nevertheless fantastic home made regional food. We were lucky to eat while it was raining as this type of food requires nice siesta afterwards. The starts and main courses were simple but tasty and obviously mastered over the years. The services was...efficient and warm. We will definitely visit again.More
