Stopped off after getting lost on many of the Wicklow roads and found this place. Lovely scenery. Great location for hill walkers and only down the road from glendalough. They serve a lovely pint of Guinness too 👍🏻
We came accross this place on the way home from hiking the mountains, and its very nice place to sit down and have a steak and pint 😀This place is very busy over the weekend.Staff is very nice and food also tastes good.
Arrived in for dinner at 7 which we had booked at 2 that day Only to be told they were booked out with a 100 people wedding dinner we said we had booked but the manager was so involed with the wedding crowed he wasn't...to bothered in hearing us i repeated we had booked which he said ohhh come this way we where shown into a little chubby hole of a room with 4 skinny tables menue was good but service slow i was suprised to see the scampi was frozen but ordered it anyway It was served hot and was nice we wanted to stay for drinks after our meal but the place was bursting at the seams and not much room we were told there was room in the bar We headed on in and managed to get a seat. I have to say the bar staff language was choice as they were talking to 3 friends across the bar one even said Your mans is a complete Fu......g Spa.......k the F word went on quite a bit throughout the evening we didnt find this language was acceptable For such a family place very disappointed as we where thinking of booking a large family get together but not any moreMore
Second time staying at glenmalure after the first time was one of the best trips myself and partner had ever been on exploring the wicklow mountains. Ended up getting the same room as the last time which i was happy about.. good old number 10...lol...came with a group of friends and all of us loved the place.. The rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable. The bar is the best, the weather was great so the place was busy and again the bar didnt disappoint. Bar staff were friendly, beer was cold and the music was excellent. Cant wait for the next trip back again to stay!!More
I would definitely recommend the Glenmalure Lodge if you are in need of tasty food and spectacular service! The food was extremely tasty and the service was wonderful and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone in search of good food.
Restaurant was very clean, comfortable, informal; our service was excellent and the food was very good and reasonably priced; wifi on premises; high recommend.
Remembered this place from 2 years earlier, we'd enjoyed the exceptionally tasty chicken wings (we recalled they came with a great/fresh/crunchy salad) & chunky chips. Dropped in on Saturday for brunch & asked for our favourite. We were told by the friendly staff member that...chicken wings weren't actually on the weekend menu but it wouldn't be a problem. We weren't disappointed - the wings were deliciously juicy & tasty, the salad was even better than we'd remembered, as for the chunky chips, if there was an Oscar for crispy chips on the outside with perfectly cooked floury insides, this place would be the outright winner. Accompanied by 2 glasses of sparkling cider. We'd been pretty hungry but we couldn't finish the wings, our dog says to thank Glenmalure Lodge - again! All for €20 & in a fabulous location - really remote, the longest glacial valley in the British Isles & full of historical landmarks from 1798! And earlier! - the valley is also the site of the 1580 Battle of Glenmalure (actually, a total ambush & it's obvious how) when the rebels of Wicklow defeated the British Crown forces. The valley & Glenmalure Lodge itself are loaded with atmosphere. Highly recommended.More
A real gem nestled deep among the Wicklow Hills. It takes a little time traveling off the beaten track to get to the Glenmalure Lodge, but, it is well worth it. On a sunny day there is no place quite like the Glenmalure Valley, and...the hospitality of the Glenmalure Lodge is so friendly. On a wet day that feeling of secure shelter that is provided is worth the journey. Great selection of good food is available and served by friendly staff.More
The food here is above average. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. We came back the next night for a second helping! Good beers and Irish Cider on tap.
