Been here several times with friends from our neighborhood in Texas. Good food and great margs in a clean restaurant. We'll be back next year.

I had high hopes that this respected restaurant would have had better than average food, and maybe something unique. What I got was luke warm food, that was no better than Taco Cabana in Houston. I thought the cost (1 diner) was high also. $16 including two beers. Will not return.

Food not so good. Went there twice and didn't care for it at all. Wait staff not very friendly & the meat was tough.

Arturo's Restaurant is the first place I stop when I make a trip to Nuevo Progresso. They offer free parking with purchase of a meal and their parking lot is safe. The restaurant has several delicious authentic dishes at great prices. The service is impeccable! The servers are always extremely friendly and attentive. I recommend this restaurant to all visitors... More

Having moved from the west coast to Dallas, I've been longing for legit Mexican food, not that "Tex-Mex" garbage they serve in DFW (who the hell puts chili con carne or velveeta cheese sauce on enchiladas?!?!). We made a day trip to Nuevo Progreso while visiting South Padre Island, and having read reviews of Arturo's we decided to give it... More

Our family has been coming to Arturo's for over 20 yrs. We love the authentic and delicious Mexican food served in an upscale dining environment (though you can still wear shorts). The enchiladas, pico de gallo, fresh/hot chips and of course, the margaritas are all highly recommended. There is free/safe parking. The food and water are also safe- the water's... More

Arturo's has been a local institution for more than 50 years, and we never miss an opportunity to dine there when we are in the Valley. Tuxedo-clad waiters, impeccable service, two-for-one classic Margaritas and inexpensive but delicious lunch specials--dining at Arturo's is a memorable experience! In addition to the lunch specials, there is an extensive menu and an excellent bar.... More

It was our first visit to N. Progreso and the town was crowded and noisy at the height of Winter Texan season in February. Tired and hungry, we saw this restaurant and went inside. Wow, quiet and civilized, cool and dark, linen tablecloths and distinguished waiters. Good prices, good food, 2 for 1 margaritas,(except our designated driver), and we left... More
