After and easy 4km drive up a winding mountain road one finds oneself at the Kneippanlage and Jausenstation of Bad Fusch ….. our hosts for the day Jonnie and Andy gave us an extremely very warm welcome and we found a shady place to sit...on a beautiful sunny day. The menu is not what you would normally find in an Austrian mountain hut and there is something on offer for all different tastes. We went for the classic Spareribs with Chicken wings and Fries served with some tasty homemade sauces, and the Veggie burger with sweet potato fries. The service was exceptional and the food amazing… ten out of ten. For dessert we went for Jonnie’s homemade brownies with ice cream and a cup of coffee from the local Coffee roastery in Saalfelden which was exceptional.
Having exceeded our calorie intake for the month we set of to explore the surroundings.. a short walk brings you to two small lakes and if you continue you find yourself at the beginning of the Tauern Nationalpark… as time was not on our side with this visit we found our bearings and made plans for our next visit to Bad Fusch where we will definitely have more time for hiking and perhaps Mountain biking.
All in all we have a wonderful afternoon and we shall definitely be back, perhaps on our next visit we shall plan the live music evening as Bad Fusch would is the perfect setting… we’ll done lads keep up the good work.More
Headed to the Jausenstation last night for the Tuesday evening live music and food. Had ribs with the Craft beer sauce...really tasty! Lovely atmosphere (the place was full), the band were playing some great tunes and the owners Andy & Johnny are really friendly and...welcoming! Already planning on going back for a little hike (the surrounding area is beautiful) and some lunch soon!More
Great vegetarian menu and welcoming staff. The setting is stunning with some great history. I would recommend a walk through the forest to visit the little spas and lake followed by a big lunch with a good beer.
Totally off the beaten track but definitely worth a visit. What a stunning little find. Go and have a lovely walk followed by some cake and coffee or a delicious radler served by the friendly staff Andy and Johnny. Highly recommend you go for a...visitMore
