The New Griffin is no longer a Greek restaurant I think its a Marsden, But I was very dissappointed from the minute we arrived. Its a very clicky place and it was obvious that the locals were being taken care off!!Our meal arrived after 1 hr, having ordered Lasagne which was obviously microwaved! we then ordered a sundee which was... We had hoped to enjoy the new refurbished Griffin but were bitterly disappointed. We went with my sister and and brother-in-law for a spot of lunch yesterday and were told on arrival that there would be a bit of a wait - approx 20 minutes. We decided that wasn't too bad so put in our orders - 1 fish and... More

Service was excellent, pub has recently been refurbished, nice surroundings but nothing outstanding, we went for the rump steak meal for 2 with bottle of wine for £20, further side order of onion rings and pepper corn sauce increased the bill by £7. The. 8 ounce steak was very well cooked and could not pick fault with it, chips were... More

Visited after hearing it had reopened after a refurb, well although everywhere looked great the service & food were something to avoid. The food is frozen microwaved rubbish presented well and the staff were sharp and miserable you would think with only just opening there would be a buzz around the place. I will not return again and friends have... More

Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch here and found that overall we were very pleased. Not only was it good value but the staff were all very good too. Great bar at the front which you can also eat in if the restaurant is full. Give it a try 👍

Visited Saturday lunchtime only to be told that they were unable to serve food as they had a large party due.!! Apart from our selves there were only eight other diners in the dining area, all of whom had been served. Hello..sign outside says 'food served all day'. The large party did not arrive whilst we sat and finished our... More

Fantastic food very reasonably price, staff lovely, friendly atmosphere, beautifully decorated. Very family orientated with a lovely enclosed beer garden. Would highly recommend The Griffin Pud, Mynydd Isa and will definitely be going back.

Visited on spec on a week night, someone came straight away & we were shown to a table. Lovely waitress (red hair) came to take drinks order & helped to suggest a lovely crisp white wine. Drinks arrived promptly, order for food taken promptly. When the food came it was generous, well presented & most of all delicious. Husband had... More
