Traditional cuisine with a helpful staff and a decent good kitchen. Just next to the highway this venue offers much more than a burger at a petrol station and costs the same or even less. Worths a stop

the facility has a great location on the tourist path and access road. in the middle of the season a lot of visitors, a positive impression. the service is young nice people. tables are not cleaned thoroughly, you can smell the crumbs left by the previous customer. toilets clean. we were on the road, tired so decided to have a meal. we opted for fried cheese and chips and two 0% beers. the food was simply good because what is complicated about this dish? I'm not convinced that making french fries and fried cheese is a feat of cooking that deserves such prices.

After long time we came to Spissky salas again… but food quality is still same, still not good. They bring us food what we do not order. Food wasnt good, fried cheese was 100% from freezer, really poor quality. Table was dirty… we do not recommend this restaurant. We will never come back…

Great food,great service

We passed by on the way from Presov.Exit from highway in Spisske podhradie,turn left direction castle.Was a bit rainy,11.45am.When entered,got seated fast.Lunch was just starting. english menu and explained the offer of the season -lamb chops.Did not take it. Menu was looking too good.Got cheese plate appetizer.Came with fresh bread.Then classic tripe soup was a bit spicy for me,butOn the table was pagace - typical snack from this area.Very tasty.Nice polite lady offered us tasted good and was hot.Traditional mixed plate with halusky,pirogy and strapacky with klobasa was fresh,homemade. My husband got meat secret -speciality came made of pork,chicken,mushrooms,cheese...just full of flavours. Our lunch was great.Even the place started to be very busy,was well managed.Our lady server was amazing.Attentive.Lunch costed us 24 Euros. Highly recommend this place.For sure will be back again.

Soup was spoiled and when we pointed it out we were told simple “it is as it should be”. We all had different main courses and each one of them was somehow disappointing. To be totally fair, it wasn’t something you wouldn’t eat but for those prices you would expect much more quality.

To be honest, I didn't expect that I would like Slovak cuisine that much, I really liked my dish and everything was excellent. This dumplings was so tasty! A very nice lady with great English speech served us and was very pleasant. The staff is young and polite. I really was excited by the atmosphere of the restaurant and was surprised because the restaurant was full, but we didn't wait long for the food and the service was quite good, the waiters were nice to each guest and it was a pleasure to see that. I was passing through with colleagues and I hope I will visit this place again.

Definitelly not the best example of the great Slovak food

Great cozy atmosphere in a unique Spis region. There is no other choice to go nearby and it is very visited because of the Spis castle neighbourhood, so the place is usually quite crowded. Its warm atmosphere is the only reason why we are still giving chance to this place, but ee are often not so satisfied with. Quality of the meals should be reconsidered over the time.

The food was excellent

We stopped here for early dinner during our trip. We had to wait 15 minutes for the free table, but this is acceptable as this is normal in good restaurant. Then we enjoyed the meal, especially "halusky" were excellent. We fully recommend this restaurant.

Nice typical Slovak restaurant

Really tasty food and coffee. We didn't have to wait long to get served. and to get the food although it was full. The waiters were very polite. The restrooms were clear. Nice surrounding, exceptionally clean restaurant, a lot to do for children in the playground.

Delicious food near Spissky hrad

delicious food in nice atmosphere at the terrace. The waiter was so kind and has made us some good recomendations in polish. The soups were very tasty - same as the main courses.

Too expensive for what you get!!

I have visited this place couple of times and I have to say the dishes are way too small like for the children and the value too expensive think twice before you go there not recommend it!

Ideal lunch after visiting the Spis Castle // Idealny obed po navsteve Spisskeho hradu

After visit of Spissky castle we decided to have lunch at Spissky salas. Place was full of people but we got lucky and found place where to sit. Service was fast and pleasant. They di not spoke good english, but luckily for them we spoke good slovak :) Food was quickly served and tasted very good. Prices are higher because of the location, but this its not super expensive. The atmosphere was busy, but we felt good anyway. Place is super traditional. It's good place for lunch with family or friends. // Po návšteve Spišského hradu sme sa rozhodli obedovať v Spišskom salaši. Miesto bolo plné ľudí, ale mali sme šťastie a našli sme miesto, kde sedieť. Obsluha bola rýchla a príjemná. Nehovorili sice dobre anglicky, ale našťastie pre nich sme hovorili my dobre po slovensky :) Jedlo bolo rýchlo podávané a chutilo veľmi dobre. Ceny sú vyššie, koli lokalite, ale nie je to zrovna najdrahsie. Atmosféra bola zaneprázdnená, ale cítili sme sa prijemne. Miesto je super tradičné. Je to dobré miesto na obed s rodinou alebo priateľmi.

Perfect local food

Had quick late lunch today. I have picked dish consist from variety of local food. It was really good, tasty, very well balanced. Servis very professional but also friendly.

Drive another 10 mins away to Levoca if you want good food

Spissky Salas is one of those touristy places that trades solely on its location. I've been there 6 times over as many years (5 times dragged in) and have only had a good meal once. Cheap halusky (barely any real bryndza used), cheap mutton meat, harried service staff...

Poor service and not good food anymore!

We went there for a lunch, restaurant was a bussy so look good that you have view of all people and smell of ,,tasty,, food . For order we were wait about 5 since waiter come it was quick but after 5 minutes come another waiter, so look they have no a system with orders. We order 3 different meals and, they were quick even in this way BUT they forget completaly for a drinks and after what we order was not a some what they bring ! When we ask the bill it was another 20 minutes. Also the quaility of food it was not a good ! Years a go was much much better. So in my eyes this restaurant running just for quantity not a Quality, which is bed . This was our trip on SK and after s long time we stop there but i think next time we will found something different and with Better Food !
