This is very clearly an elegant spot and an incredible setting. We had lunch here while spending the day at La Posta Vecchia and the food is quoted delicious. I found it to be pricey for what you get but I suppose that is to be expected when you have a captive audience at a 5-star hotel. The pasta was... More

At a Sunday lunch on the lovely terrace, the service was solicitous and professional, yet not pretentious or overbearing. But the food was so bland that the cheese stuffed zucchini blossoms tasted almost the same as the pork belly on a root vegetable purée. It's hard to figure out how such a gorgeous and expensive place can serve food so... More

Had the menu degustazione & it was very pleasant & surprising - I should have ordered the last desert once more, it was that good ! This starred restaurant offers, beside good food, also a stunning scenery. The service, as you may expect , is impeccable. The only minus.... extravagant price of wine by the glass. 20€ for an OK wine of no pedegree is "a bit" over the top. This continued to be the topic of conversation during our whole weekend in Rome.

Had several meals at The Cesar this summer as well. With two small kids. Excellent food. Choice not limited by the printed menu. Really good service. Location cannot be better.

Tucked away half an hour from both Rome & the cruise port of Civitavecchia lies this jewel of a hotel POSTA VECCHIA overlooking the Sea. Words cannot describe the pristine beauty one feels as one enters the property - one is immediately enveloped with a feeling of calm. It's no wonder that a U.S. Billionaire lovingly restored a villa whose... More

Perfection! The Chef's (Chef Michelino Gioia) choices are a delight to the palate - and so thoughtfully paired with wines and different courses. Service is unsurpassed!

What a remarkable visit! The terrace, view, and food were perfect and we all hated to leave. Our service could not have been better and we all felt special and pampered. I highly recommend the Cesar to anyone - you will want to go back again and again.

A truly wonderful experience. I worked with the restaurant to plan a special birthday lunch for my mother and they did not disappoint. The food was perfect, the location was beyond beautiful and the staff was attentive and warm. Big thanks to Bruno, Patrizia and to Danielle for making this one of the highlights of our trip to Italy.

Description
There's a Michelin-starred restaurant on the Lazio coast, serving up the fragrances and flavours of traditional Italian gastronomy: The Cesar restaurant at La Posta Vecchia, a five-star luxury hotel just kilometres from Fiumicino. Your table will be set in the vaulted dining room, on the panoramic terrace overlooking the sea, or in the garden under the stars. Michelino Gioia's surprising dishes can also be enjoyed surrounded by the millennia-old history of the Roman villa Museum. Because, at La Posta Vecchia, you can even reserve a table for two for a candle-lit dinner inside the museum, with your choice of musical accompaniment and our chef's delectable preparations. Michelino Gioia's cuisine respects the region's traditions, but he gives his dishes a contemporary twist, with skilful technique in their composition. The chef's aim is clear: to thrill his Guests. The large windows of the elegant Michelin-starred restaurant frame the fishing boats that glide silently on the waves. As you enter The Cesar, you breathe the enchanting and enchanted charm of a splendid house on the sea, which has been modernised with taste and respect. The classic and contemporary are skilfully combined in both furnishings and recipes. Our chef transforms traditional dishes into modern creations that thrill both the eye and the palate. The dining room, with its high vaulted ceilings, large windows trimmed with soft white curtains, subtle lighting and candle-lit tables is pleasant when the spring or autumn air is chilly. And in summertime, the restaurant, with its one Michelin star and two Gambero Rosso forks, moves outdoors onto the terrace, where the tables are shaded by white parasols. Enjoy a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner, seated comfortably as you enjoy the view of the sea and Castello Odescalchi (Odescalchi Castle). The restaurant is also open to customers not staying at the hotel, so that they too can enjoy a relaxing break, and sample the hotel's delicious cuisine.
