This is the restaurant we go to when we don't have enough food in the fridge at our summer cottage, or no strength to start cooking. Always friendly service, good and varied food in the buffet and great bread!

Little disappointing

We decided to have lunch here, after reading earlier positive reviews. After our little disappointing visit, I noticed that they are from 2015-17, so maybe something has changed after that? Quite stylish interior and also terrace, but unfortunately no "hellos, welcomes or enjoy your lunch"...from waitress....maybe because we talk Finnish and they like to speak Swedish? It was a real hot day and their buffet wasn't looking that appealing, bee flying around, salmon was "mushy" with more skin than fish itself left etc. Price wasn't too bad, but unfortunately we left there unsatisfied and no good byes, despite my wife said that loud to waitress.More

Great lunch place

They served lunch buffet on daily basis and located in the centre of the city. It was a good deal actually. They served salad, veggies, feta cheese and fruits as starter buffet. While for main course you will find potatoes (prepared in 2 different ways,...steamed and mashed), also steak with tasty sauce and cabbage roll. Coffee, tea, cookies and bread were served on the other table. They also have milk and juice for children (or adult).More

Best lunch in the area

I recently visited Gastro for a Sunday lunch and this place never let you down. Tasty food, good service topped with a smile and nice surroundings make this place a must go every time am in town.

Such a tasty lunch!

Lunch at Gastro was delicious! Unexpected to have such good food in a small town, but it was probably one of the best lunches I ate in a long time. Fish, mashed potatoes, sauce and Schnitzel were superb, and the fruit bread wonderful. The atmosphere...is very nice & the staff friendly. Eat Lunch here if you're in town!More

Again: Wow!

A very successful overnight layover at Kristiinankaupunki on a short business trip in the region. We found Gastro a bit by accident, and what a pleasant accident. The restaurant has a very nice, ambient interior with a well balanced set of furniture, fixtures and tableware....The service was very welcoming and friendly, all the way. We had "Grilled tenderloin, chanterelle sauce and pork cheek with truffle sauce" for mains and "Deep-fried Camembert and cloudberry jam" for desserts. The wine was Ònix, 2014. And for grande finale, coffee & grappa. The price/quality was very good. You would not expect to find this in a small coastal town, very quiet on a Tuesday evening. If you happen to be around (say 50 miles), I think you should consider a visit!More

Great lunch

Really nice lunch with several options from the buffet. Friendy staff. Good seating options for different sized groups both inside and outside. Highly recommended!
