We had a private evening event at this Tea House connected to the old Wehmais manor. The setting is a farm setting, the manor still has milking cows. The Tea House offers a wide range of teas but also a short menu. We had a...three-course dinner that was perfect. The starter, deep fried, smoked, Common roach (Rutilus rutilus) with pickled fennel was heavenly. Normally this is a fish I spurn, but this was delicious (see picture). Various meats for main and the dessert with combinations of sherbet and a basil-cake was fantastic. This place, you can safely say off the beaten track, is worth a detour. Locally brewed beer and a high-quality winelist complete the picture. Kudos to Wehmais.More

Juva is in the rural Finland but TeaHouse of Wehmais is definitely worth the trip. We were in Savonlinna region for our summer trip but I had seen quite a few social media comments from my peers about this place. We decided to make a...detour going there it was definitely worth it. We shared an afternoon tea selection and it was very well made: a fine English style experience. Living in Ireland for some years, they really knew what they were doing - and brought the British Islands to their Juva tea house. I must confess their scones were better than the majority I've had in the Islands... :)More

Had wanted to visit for a long time so we specifically drove for 2,5 hours for this and had booked a table. Went with the family and we had the Afternoon Tea or Royal Tea each. Tea arrived much earlier than the food, I was...already on my second cup. One of the sandwiches was missing the other half (we never dared to ask where it had gone) and the scones were terribly undercooked, the insides were very doughy. We tried to get the waiter's attention for a long time but they were chatting behind the counter. Had to walk there to tell about the scones. Good tea selection, friendly service and the scones were replaced with slightly more cooked ones but the overall experience wasn't what it should be. You'll get better Afternoon Tea in Helsinki.More

We visited the place on a Sunday by a recommendation of a friend. When we entered the place, the concept and pricing was unclear and the personnel, though friendly, could not explain it very well. We opted for the 15 euros menu with two scones...and a tea since the buffet option seemed pricy (37 euros) and unnecessary since one can only eat a limited amount. The scones and tea were really good but the pricy and non-flexible offering and unclear concept for a newcomer left us wondering whether to return or not. The surroundings were beautiful which helped that the experience was not totally bad. It's a shame, since our expectations were high.More

This British-style tea house is situated in Wehmaa Manor (Wehmaan kartano), which is a local dairy farm. This family manor has 60 cows and they produce organic milk. The farm is situated only three kilometers from the highway 5. So it is easy to visit...there. Just turn towards Vehmaa at the interchange of ABC Juva and follow signs. The tea house is unbelievable. They have extremely stylish tea rooms in old log buildings. Taste delicious tea and pastries. You may enjoy your tea in the garden, too. This is a luxury experience! Their set menus are very good: finger sandwiches, scones, sweet pastries or even sparkling wine if you want. Sometimes they have scones buffets. Besides, they also have a take away opportunity. You can just walk in but sometimes you have to queue up. It is also possible to contact them in advance by e-mail or by phone and book your menu. They have a very good gift shop, too. Their sell over 100 different loose leaf tea, candies and decorative objects. It is nice to visit this shop while you queue up to get your table in the tea room. Or you can just visit this excellent shop without entering the tea room. There is a stone barn next to the tea house. Usually the door of the barn is open. So you can watch something very special. You see an automatic milking robot in action. Cows queue up themselves to get in the milking machine. This was extremely interesting!More

Beautiful setting and excellent idea and products BUT BUT: the experience was totally spoiled with an almost one-hour queue. No possibility for advance booking and the queuing system was puzzling. The explanation was that they think it is more fair to keep people waiting than...to take reservations, which is not very customer friendly. Never again! 😳☹️😤More

Nice place but dont go there on sunday. You dont get the usual menu and are left to choose from cup of tea and two scones for 15 euros or all you can eat and drink buffet for 37 euros. We took the buffet and...left very dissapointed. Nobody enjoys eating sweet stuff more than the usual menus include, so basically they charge double price from sunday visitors. Many people were asking for alternatives to have something salty and something sweet but staff said buffet is the only way to go if you dont want to take the two scones. Feels like sunday buffet is made for owners to be able to charge double prices. I could visit the place again but never on sunday.More

The cheapest way to get a cup of tea of your choice would have been 21€. That’s because of a buffet concept that included two choices of tea only. A take it or leave it. So we left. Nice ambience and shop, though.

It was amusing how husbands were waiting outside while we ladies were shopping. The menu had lots of varieties, tea was Good as were the scones with strawberryjam and whipped cream. Their own lemon curd was excellent. The cows inside the cowhouse were huge but...cute, something to see for the kids too. The pic is from the especially charming restroom.More

Teahouse of Wehmais is something you do not find elsewhere in Finland and a place not to miss. Well-maintained manor house and surroundings create a beautiful milieu for this lovely tea house. The building is an old horse stable and every detail has been taken...into account in transforming this place to such an elegant paradise for tea lovers. You can enjoy tea from a selection of close to 100 different teas, along with delicious scones and finger food. The service was exceptionally friendly and professional. During a nice summer day you can sit and relax in their traditional Finnish garden.More

I had a few scones and some Scotish breakfast tea. Both were absolutely perfect, to the point that the scones were probably the best I've ever had. Tea is served in the usual English fashion, in a pot, which is perfect for a small group...to try out different varieties. The teahouse itself has a nice quiet atmosphere, lovely staff and the environment of the old family manor. Perfect stop for a quick tea and a bisquit, or a proper lunch and shopping spree at the adjoining deli&deco shop.More

We visited in February, and the farm that the tea house is located in made for a lovely setting, surrounded by a winter wonderland. The tea house itself has several different rooms, each one decorated in a different way with beautiful wallpapers. We got the...“standard” afternoon tea menu and chose some great white teas. Was very hungry but the finger sandwiches, scones and sweets was very filling, and even more importantly, delicious!More
