We had a brunch with our friends. We expected to have nice local foods and seasion incrediense like blueberries and mushrooms, and fishes from the lake. Smoked pork was underdone and chewie. Basically nice try but not good enough comparing the price.

We stayed here for one night. It was our first night in Finland so we didn't arrive till late in the evening. The amazing Teemu welcomed us and was our receptionist, chef and waiter, all in one. He made us an incredible 3-course meal, salmon...cooked over the open fire at the Pajapirtti restaurant. The restaurant was an incredible, cosy and intimate place to eat, it was a real pleasure. In the morning we enjoyed breakfast and then a trip to the ice sauna, which was a first! The location is a beautiful one in the snow, we would definitely recommend staying and eating here!More

Very nice resort accessible either by car or boat as it's by the lake. We stayed over in their hotel room, which was in old building, simple and basic but had all you needed including super good breakfast including local food products. So good! Staff...was friendly and helpful. Resort has two restaurants during the summer, Rantamakasiini is casual with artesan pizza and burgers, Koskivahti offers Saimaa Gastronomy menues. We ate in both places: loved our pizzas, but the main courses in our menues were disappointing (meat and fish menu), thus I gave Resort four stars instead of five.More

Unfortunately not a good experience. The view was amazing. Food was a good try but not a hit. The fish was way over salted. The lamb was unbalanced, too much meat compared to the other components. Good tastes, though. Still, the price (27-30€) let us...expect way more. The worst part was the service. Actually, there was none. We only had the main course and still the visit took an hour. The water ran out when the dishes were served but wasn’t replaced. And it was 29° warm. Waiters seemed busy and were preparing other tables but didn’t even look at us. After finishing we waited for almost 15 minutes to get the plates taken away, and it only happened after asking. Still, there was more waiters than tables with clients… If you wanna play fine(r) dining, then at least the basics should be in place.More

Very good food and surprisingly wide sortiment of local beers and drinks. We ate a few pizzas with fresh and nice ingredients. Cozy place that I would recommend to anybody travelling across Saimaa.

We had dinner and the breakfast at the restaurant and we were absolutely happy with everything. The staff speak English and explain the menu in detail. They have a great variety of wine. Vegetarian meals are available and they are very delicious.

Stopped spontaneously for lunch. Really good food, can recommend grilled spring greens! The view from the restaurant is beautiful and staff was friendly. Also there is a corner with kids’ toys that we found very helpful :)

Fabulous morel soup with homemade bread. Lamb with root vegetables was amazing and the smoothness of the meat was superb. The service was again great, profound and pleasant. Definitely a place for a visit in puumala.

I was with my wife one night at Sahalahti Resort and our cosy cottage was almost next to the lake. Everything was clean and tidy in cottage and my wife was really enjoying about lake, water was warm and she was swimming several times there....I had dinner in Restaurant and took as main course local fish with mashed potatoes, simple food but good. In the morning breakfast was including everything what’s needed to start day well. We had two small dogs with us and even they got present from resort, tasty bone was waiting in cottage.More

My husband and I rented a cottage here and loved every bit of our stay. The restaurant is always busy, serving some delicious food. Do try the fresh fish and do ask for their recommendations. The burgers are nice and you can just sit an...admire the nature of this place, all day.More

Stayed at the dock, rented the sauna by the pond (super), had burgers at the restaurant by the lake, breakfast at the restaurant and enjoyed it all.

We had nice meat burgers with family on the dock terrace in a great weather and great scenery. Nice smoke flavour just a few meters away as everything is cooked inside the barn from the local ingredients. Not the cheapest setting but worth to take...once in a while. There is nice clean milieu and interesting history for the place. If you have possibility to come by boat - take it.More
