Food was good, service ok, but... The waitress dropped buttery knife on me that smeared my sweater. Smooth way would have been: "Sorry my bad, the dessert is on the house." Instead: "I could not have guessed that something like this could happen." End of...story. Situational flexibility and "eye" will take far.More
We had a nice dinner in tupa, a la carte is not wide but we found our portions there, fish and chicken. The atmosphere is very "tupalike", rustic, countryside. During off- season Tupa is not open every evening, might be worth checking. The food was...OK, nothing special, a bit salty to my liking. Also rather pricy..More
Tupa is probably the best bet for food other than pizza and hamburger near the ski resort. We ate here several times and were disappointed only once due to potatoes that tasted like they were warmed up. They use local ingredients. Very friendly and considerate...service even during busy hours.More
During the main season buffet lunch is available. We tried this restaurant and found it a good option. Good number of choices and kids loved it, too.
The day we visited there was a cheese buffet for dessert. The staff asked if kids would like...portions of ice cream instead if they don't love cheese. Well, they do but chose the ice cream! Great portions they had with no extra charge! That was great customer service!More
Restaurant Tupa is located inside Hotel Himos and acts an a'la carte restaurant in the evening. We went there for a dinner with a group friends. They were organizing some Christmas dinner buffet the same evening and although there was not many people in at...the time the kitchen was busy. It took more than one hour from the order to get our food but waitress was friendly and offered us a round of drinks as a compensation.
I had the 300g piece of pork glazed with beer syrup and oh my it turned out to be the best pork I've ever had in a restaurant. it was not the usual thin cut piece of pork but thick piece that had been cooked to very tender like pulled pork kind of tenderness.
Chili mayonnaise and fries were also good with some Finnish vegetables. There could have been a bit more fries on the plate but still it was simply delicious and I left an empty plate for the waitress to collect.
Two of my friends also liked the pork very much and two other guys enjoyed the steaks. Nice evening and we left the restaurant with fully bellies and good feeling.More
