A wonderful local favorite, Martin is a fantastic host and the food and service are wonderful. We went twice in a week after the first dinner, Martin told us about reggae on Sunday, so naturally we needed to make a reso. As for the food, expieirnce and atmosphere its one of the best! I would highly recommend to start with... More

I dined alone. Martin made a fish dish that was not on the menu. It was fabulous. The little extras, such as banana bread, were a nice (not common) addition. I went back when Martin was not there and it was not the same . . . .

You can not come to LM and not go to Martin's, Excellent seafood, Mexican and Latin are very special.

10 of us came on a Sunday afternoon, yes with reservations. My wife and I were the only ones who had not been here before. We had Martin for our self. He personally prepared most of the meals at the table. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. This was not inexpensive ... but worth every peso! Yes, I... More

Finding Restaurante Martin was a little hard, drive into La Manzanilla, drive to the beach, turn left and there are hoards of restaurants. Ask the first "Gringo" couple, and they will direct you immediately. We entered the restaurant at about 4 PM on a Monday, the place was packed. We then realised they were not eating, they were playing bingo.... More

If you’re looking for a special dining experience, slow down, go with the flow, enjoy the view and just let Martin cook for you. On our recent visit to La Manzanilla my wife and I let Martin know we would be dining almost exclusively at his restaurant. We showed up for lunch and dinner and ate whatever Martin recommended for... More

After reviewing the menu we asked what the fish was, as the various preparations did not specify, only to be told they had no fish. Okay, so we ordered shrimp.Pretty sure those were Costco vegetables, and likely they spectacular coconut, papaya sauce on the shrimp as well. Entrees were lukewarm. 2 outstanding features were the view and my pinacoladas. The... More

Martin locally famous for his table side food preparations. If you are there in February check to see when the master tango class is having a milonga( dance session). It usually starts about 8PM. Go earlier for dinner and stay and watch the dancers.

Hurricane Patricia pretty much destroyed Martins restaurant, but like the Mexican people do, they take everything in stride and rebuild. Martins new palapa roof is brand new and very nicely done. Our meals were amazing as usual and for me his shrimp wrapped in bacon with cheese was my favorite. Martin made sure we happy throughout the entire experience.

Then..there is the entre...they had fresh fish, so there were two plates of that..and madre, that was good. Desserts were two servings of... More
