Wild Harvest is a very unique restaurant built by it’s owners Ian and Lucinder. So much character with a magnificent open fire. This restaurant is in a great spot on the top of a hill in Grassy looking out over the port and Bass Strait. Wallabies were roaming around outside. We dined here on a Thursday evening. Menù was not large but everything on it looked appealing....Choice from three entrees, four mains and three desserts. For entrees we had the fresh steamed shredded crayfish served with the shell and a seafood sauce along with the Bass Strait scallops poached in the shell with a ginger glaze sauce. Mains we both had the King Island eye fillet with local vegetables and beef jus. All three dishes were delicious and the fillet was cooked as ordered. Dessert, we shared a panacotta with berries that was also very tasty and appropriately wobbly. Wine list had a reasonable selection of mainly Tasmanian and South Australian wines at reasonable prices. What we thought was quite innovative was that one of the rooms off the main dining room had been turned into a wine cellar and you were invited in to select your own bottle. Our waitress was very friendly and informative. Unfortunately we were unable to reserve a table for another night. Definitely recommended.More

What an absolute delight. We visited as part of a King Island golf tour, and we weren’t expecting something so exquisite. 5 courses as diverse as you could think, all sourced from the island, each with its own story and cooking tips for trying some...elements at home, though doubt I could come close if I tried. Absolutely magnificent food. The chef and the team were extremely friendly and he explained the produce used in the menu from the island. Highly recommend that you book this hidden gem on King Island.
