We were staying locally in our motorhome and decided to have take-away fish & chips. For a shop so close to the harbour where the fresh fish are brought in, the quality was really poor. The haddock was very thin, not at all fleshy and...mainly batter. Thought it strange that two pieces of fish are included in each portion, seems reason being there’s not much to it. On a positive note, the curry sauce was nice.More

Delicious food and massive portions! Not too heavily battered and the freshest chips I've ever eaten!

Great fish & chips - got takeout with family during the week - the fish & chips were excellent - fish portion was massive and wasn’t too heavily battered. Kids had pizza & chicken nuggets which are good also - homemade chips which were too...greasy - worth a visit if in Kilmore QuayMore

Fantastic food and wonderful service. Very popular, orders take 40 mins. Great value and big portions, ordered haddock and got 2 fish per serving.

Excellent fresh fish and chips. Large portions. Need to consider more environmental friendly packaging.

Visited last Sunday lunchtime for fish and chips, and was not disappointed. As a local now living in another county, I can tell you that you'd have to go a long way to find a better chipper. We were given diet busting portions - the...only problem was that we ate way too much as the food was far too nice to leave behind! You expect waiting times at this time of the year, but the handy system whereby you get a phone call when your order is ready means that you can have a stroll around the village while you wait. Would definitely highly recommend!More

Read great reviews of this place but was hugely disappointed unfortunately. Chips were tasteless. Burger and chicken goujons were good. The onion rings were frozen onion rings bought from a supermarket and not home made!

I went there with a friend and we waited 45 minutes for our food and the portion size was extremely small on his gravy chips for we he paid for it. The bacon in my garlic cheese bacon chip was burned beyond a crisp. I...message the chipper directly on social media explaining this to them and I got no response. . I was too tired to go back in to them with it and the place was also dur to close so I dumped it in the bin. I've gone here before over the years and I was extremely disappointed at the poor quality of food ..More

Hello, As Noel G said, I think it it is only open weekends during the winter. The food is great, however Mary Barry's restaurant in Kilmore itself Is worth a try, and as far as I know is open every day
