We went here for dinner last night and it was simply amazing. Two of us had the vegetarian menu (recommended if you want to try something different) and we both enjoyed every bite to the fullest. Honestly, I think that the 5 courses were probably...the best vegetarian dishes we ever tasted. Very delicious. I would go vegetarian right away if I could eat like this every day! The other person chose two fish dishes and these were very good as well. The staff is very polite and knowledgeable. If you can, try to book a table outside! (it was full so we sat inside)More

Interior of restaurant is modern and funky with lots of charm and ambience. Had the pleasure of dining twice while in Tuscany. Food was excellent and service was good. This is a place to sit and enjoy, gas nice wine selections and flavorful dishes. The...lamb chops were cooked to perfection and the pate and terrine appetizer was delightful. Reservations are suggested.More

Surprisingly modern interior in this old famous village. Below street level, so you don’t come here for the views, but the food was fabulous with service to match. Highly recommended.

We attended Pepenero at the recommendation of our truffle guide Massimo. The food was beautifully cooked, there was a reasonable selection with pastas, meats, fish and vegetarian options. The desserts were also excellent.

This was one of the best dining exeperiences we have had this summer. The food was incredible; both fish (Mare) and meat (Terre) dishes were delicious. Especially the scallops. Matching wines to boot. Spectacular views from the balcony. Nice and attentive staff. Even when our...reservation by e-mail had gone missing, they still found us a spot (6 persons). Grazie mille!More

WHAT a PLACE!!! We were off a ship in Livorno We hired a private guide to go to Pisa and then to Florence so we wanted GOOD food in a sitting down restaurant so in between he took us to this little town called San...Miniano. The restaurant doesn't look much from the outside but its pretty modern inside with-a breathless view!! Dishes were OUTSTANDING.... The pasta with rabbit The Best, lamb fantastic and the stuffed pumpkin flowers amazing. GreT dessert! IDEAL food stop between Pisa and Florence!!More

Once we had managed to park in San Miniato - no mean feat - Pepenero was easy to find and was surprisingly busy for a Monday lunchtime in November, with stylish Italian business people enjoying the very creative menu (but probably not the wine list,...as we seemed to be the only ones with a bottle of wine on the table!). Creative is definitely the key word here and a couple of the dishes didn't quite work, which is why I have to give it a "very good" rather than "excellent" rating. A very sleek interior, wonderful views of the countryside, sophisticated ambience and service and definitely "fine dining" - quite surprising to find that in San Miniato. This is a destination restaurant, serious and interesting, very well worth visiting.More
