Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Four of us had food here earlier. The food wasn't great but my big issues was with the Menu pricing. The prices for our main courses as listed on the menu's that we were giving were different from those listed on our bill. When i queried as to...why we had been overcharged i was told that these were Sunday prices @ that the prices were listed on the board .At no point when ordering our food did any staff member make reference to Sunday prices or pricing on a board.Very disappointing. We will not be returningMore

Very very disappointed with our meal, after dining here numerous times before and being completely satisfied with the service and quality of food, we were let down tremendously, the kids ordered goujons and chips which went down fine with the kids, after ordering starters myself...mussels which after 10 minutes we found out were not in stock I ended up ordering chicken wings which were only OK, my wife ordered arancini which she could not finish, but the mains was so bad, we both ordered steak and at €30 for a 7oz steak served with the most horrible vegetables we have ever had we felt ripped off, the steak was however cooked to our liking, Blue and rare but the mushrooms and onions were burnt and landed on top which tainted the steak making it inedible, the mash was dry with the texture of day old porridge, the steamed broccoli and cauliflower were dryer than a cereal box and the roasted veg were dripping in oil, I'm assuming to help the rest of the veg easier to eat. After waiting 10 minutes for our bill to arrive I had to make my way to the bar to ask for it, and only then we're we asked how our meal was and without making a scene in a busy bar we just said it was only OK, we reluctantly payed our €114 and left. I am glad to say we will never dine here ever again, and can't believe the dirt we had been served, we were extremely dissapointed with our meals don't know what has happened to this place but do not waste your money here.More

A place i loved to visit so disappointed i think maybe under new management myself and my husband had mussels for starters there was approximately 8 mussels in a cream sauce was supposed to be serves with brown bread but wasn’t for €12 it was...a complete rip off. I then had the chicken salad for mains it consisted of lettuce onion chicken and a couple of pieces of chorizo no brown bread and fries my husband had chicken supreme it was a roast chicken breast with gravy mash and the side of veg that is a side for every dinner Regardless of want the dinner is i went down to pay at the bar i received no bill only charged a fee that i believe was over charged but bar was so busy and he was under a-lot of pressure and i had waited long enough just wanted to get out this is not the place it was such a pity it strikes of a place that puts making a profit before quality will not be returningMore

A lovely Sunday lunch. My husband had Roast Beef and I had Salmon, both were excellent. Enjoyed bread and butter pudding for dessert.

We ate lunch here today Sunday. Flower pots outside with only weeds growing was an indication of how far standards have slipped at this restaurant. Very disappointing. We each had fish of two different kinds. Both served on a bed of soggy mash with vegetables...that were over cooked and mushy! We ate in the covered outside area beside a door to kitchen with constant loud grinding noises and they didn’t even have any music playing on the overhead speakers to dampen noise or conversations. Need to improve if they are to justify Tripadvisor ratingsMore

A great selection of lovely dishes on the menu, great staff and a nice atmosphere too. Reasonably priced and decent portions. Would have liked more veg with the main dishes.

We booked here based on the reviews and it was a mistake. When we sat at our table, I noticed it was sticky and then saw the floor was covered in spilled red wine. We moved to a nearby empty table. Then we noticed our...water glasses had some crusty stain on the top. When we got our wine glasses, they also had lipstick stains on them. So far not so good. We both ordered from the specials, the food arrived minutes later and was bland and not hot. It was expensive and way below par. The food made us both quite sick later in the evening.More

Was passing through Lismore & stopped in Foleys for lunch. Wasn't disappointed.... the seafood chowder was one of the best I've had, so filling. Staff were so chatty and friendly & lovely cosy decor. Will definitely return.

Out for a drive with the family at the weekend and wanted a tasty lunch that was delicious & also good value. I had the fish & chips, yummy!!! My partner had the curry & devoured the lot! The kids were both delighted with their...food & we got the lot of under €80 for the four of us - with drinks included. Service was quick, efficient & friendly, would thoroughly recommend Foleys for a great family day out. We’ll be back!More

My wife had hake and I had carbonara after a prawn starter. Food was plentiful and delicious. Only disappointment was its CASH ONLY. We were advised in advance that their card machine was broken !!,This is a big drawback and very suspicious for a restaurant.

We celebrated my father's birthday in Foleys today at lunch time. 9 of us ate and there wasn't one complaint. The staff were lovely, especially a beautiful red haired girl who couldn't have been more polite or helpful. I'm disappointed I didn't get her name!...The owner was a pleasure to meet. I wish him success and happiness in Foleys. I look forward to returning ☺️More

Visited this establishment today. Probably one of the worst experience in Irish dining in a while. Prices are up but unfortunately the heat wasn't. We were frozen and asked why. Told by a staff member that the heat wasn't allowed on by the owners. Not...the fault of the nice staff but I will not be returning to Foleys again. Had an ok main and left to next door where an open fire and lovely selection awaited us. In my opinion not worth a visit. Foleys = Frozen. Shame on the owners.More
