We went to this restaurant for an evening meal on Friday 12/08/22, we ordered the burger and the curry chicken and chips, the curry chicken and chips was absolutely dreadful, the chips were soggy and the chicken was very tasteless, the curry itself was the...worst I have ever tasted, the manager came over to us at the conclusion of our meal and asked us was everything ok, we informed him that the chicken curry and chips was dreadful and he said that this was the third complaint he had received that evening for this particular dish, he said he would refund us the cost of this meal, however, we remained seated for another 25 minutes and he did not return to us with the refund, he walked past us several times and seemed to simply ignore us, we decided at this stage that we should just leave, which we did. Overall, a very disappointing experience and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.More
Very delicious food, coffee and very nice service, located close to beach. Food presented in a nice way.
We came to the pub after a long cycling journey and even when the kitchen was closed the bartender Matt prepared us an excellent soup which was really preciated. The place was very nice, there is also a big beer garden. Recommended!
First, the young staff are lovely, energetic and apologetic. Family of four, I can honestly state it’s the longest we have waited for our food. We did not have to complain as the lovely waitress kept apologising. When eventually two of the courses arrived it...took another 9mins for the other two courses to arrive. Just not acceptable in this day and age. If the food was complicated maybe there is justification but seriously, Fish and chips, curry and taco fries and it takes forever. Place was not even busy. Some how the kitchen is a joke on preparing the food, we were not the only family that complained today about waiting time. Certainly won’t be back again. Lastly, ROCKSHORE advertised everywhere, all the staff wearing ROCKSHORE T-shirts, all umbrellas, billboards etc were all ROCKSHORE and yet, no ROCKSHORE available to drink! Anyhow, plenty of other fine bars and restaurants in Dungarvan to eat at.More
Season 2...no improvement...in fact worse. Inside and outside menu but kitchen closed so no food to be had. Rockshore rockshore everywhere but not a drop to drink.
Popped into this newly renovated bar yesterday afternoon after beach walk, all the staff were lovely and friendly. It’s a great spot in an ideal location so we decided to stay to watch the hurling final. We were astounded when seemingly the “boss” and family...decide to take prime position to block the view of the match. They were asked by an adjoining table to perhaps get shorter stools so the actual customers could also enjoy the screen but it was met with a resounding NO. It wasn’t a day to go inside to another screen and other outdoor screen was affected by sun gaze! It clearly showed a lack of professionalism and regard for the patrons by the owner which was disappointing.More
Family were staying in Bunmahon for a few nights and visited the engine house on two nights. Lovely food and drinks and a very pleasurable experience overall. The menu is varied and covered all of our varied tastes. Great food fantastically presented and the pints...of Guinness were great also.More
We stopped by here for a cup of tea and some cake, when driving through the area. It was our first time visiting and we would happily return. The cafe/restaurant is nicely laid out in separate indoor and outdoor seating areas and it felt very...relaxing (until a group of loud Dubs came along) When ordering cake I explained I had a nut allergy and immediately I was presented with an ingredients list of all of the cakes on sale. They also had a number of Gluten Free Options. I was very impressed. Hubby had a slice of Nutella Cheesecake and I had a slice of Salted Caramel Cheesecake. Both were absolutely gorgeous (I had to take my husband's word for it). The staff are exceptionally pleasant and helpful. It really is a lovely place.More
Stopped off here touring Copper coast fitted us in even though they had a busy service, and served by friendly manager Mathew. great food and friendly locals and athmosphere. will come back again.
Was out for spin and decided after checking website I'd order the nacho chips. When we got there they said only carvery was on the menu as it was Sunday, yet not mention of this on their website. I asked if there was any chance...they could do the loaded chips and was told no. We ordered pizza for my daughter which was very good but my husband and I had bacon and cabbage. The man cutting the meat (the chef??!!) had a lovely bit of bacon put aside and had another very fatty bit and decided when the nice piece would be taken out and given to selected customers, which I did not like. Food was tasteless. On positive note. Young table staff were lovely.More
Arrived here for food and drinks at the weekend. Crowd in the front bar was moderate. Went to the bar and ordered 4 cocktails from manager of the pub, to which I was rudely informed he was “too busy and don’t have time to make...them”. Lovely premises and the students working here are a credit to themselves. Frequented here a lot previously but will not be visiting again.More
Had roast beef from the carvery, it was absolutely delicious, highly recommend , fair play to Eddie the chef and all the staff so friendly !
Found this great bar and restaurant after a lovely walk on Bunmahon beach. Brilliant atmosphere, friendly staff and great sea food chowder. Will definitely be back.
Have just spent the weekend In Bunmahon, the only show in town is the Engine House, bar and restaurant… but what a show. Everything ran in the correct manner, for the times that we are in. All checks made, and a lovely welcoming atmosphere, and...genuinely friendly staff. Then there is the food, two evening meals and a Sunday lunch later, I have nothing but praise for the chef’s and their kitchen. All the meals were very tasty and excellently presented. I could not fault a single thing. Well done, keep it up, we will be back and shall recommend The Engine House far and wideMore
