The Peculiar Cafe is full of amusing details from the Moomin stories, and since it's located in Naantali's Old Town (Kaivokatu 5), you can experience an authentic Moomin atmosphere without having to take a trip to Moominworld. The Peculiar Cafe serves the cake master’s delicious cakes, savoury pies and freshly-baked cinnamon buns.

Really cute moomin themed café, i do recommend visiting here if you are not going to moominland. The cakes are same as there and you get a little different experience. There wasn't that much people when we visited, but it was really nice and the girls where so nice and friendly. I was a little bit disappointed about the coffee, it wasn't a "barista coffee", with espresso shot and beautiful crema and milk but it all came from a machine. It was drinkable, but I was hoping for a "real" coffee.

Great location. Had coffee and ice cream, sat outside and had a great time. Only negative was the lack of staff, so we had a long wait...but it was worth it. Good place for a break.

Nice old world atmosphere and lots of things to do for kids. Great cakes and ice cream. Central location near harbour.

Cute Café with good cakes and coffee. ☕🥰 Lovely details of the Moomins can be found everywhere even on the toilet. 🥰 The staff was friendly and helpful. 😍👍🏻

I've come to expect bad coffee in Finland but this puddle water tasted more like weak tea than an Americano. It was not possible to drink it. The cafe itself is trying to be cute but also selling overpriced Moomin Merchandise and the staff are so unfriendly I was not brave enough to complain about the coffee. Unless you are Finnish and love muck for coffee - avoid

Definitely recommend this lovely café for anyone interested in Moomins or just tasty pastries and tea or coffee! The decor was very nice and detailed, the staff was friendly and you got free refills for tea and coffee, which was a lovely surprise! It definitely felt like they had put a lot of thought into the Moomin aspect of the café as well!

Special cafe with nice outdoor terrace. We ate cinnamon roll, which was soft and tasty. Had also an ice latte, very nice one. Service was friendly and the cafe was clean and cozy.

I travelled to Naantali souly for my love of the Moomins. This cafe embodied the stories perfectly with three seating areas all inspired by different aspects of the stories and a terrace. Lovely selection of sweets and drinks, including a small gift shop. Great staff who were very accommodating and friendly. I've been twice during my one week visit to Naantali and felt more of a Moomin-esque vibe here than Moominworld itself, since Moominworld is more aimed at children this was a very nice and peaceful place to go. Couldn't recommend it enough for anyone visiting the area!

Nice cafe nearby the old city of Naantali. If you love Moomies, you should visit here! Evetything is moomin style. We take coffee and tomati-mozzarella-pie; it was good but not fabulous. Terrace was nice place because nice weather. Staff was very friedly. Its lovely place for families and Moomie-fans.
