We recently ate here as a family of six and had a good lunch! We all chose something different and the quality of the food was good when it was eventually served! There was only 2 other people in the bar/restaurant when we arrived but the place soon became busy and it was quite obvious there weren't enough staff to... More

This year the food was very disappointing. We had fish and chips gluten free. That fish had to be baked but the chips were overlooked , too brown, soggy and greasy. When we complained we did not get any reduction of price to compensate, just "we'll tell the chef". Food was expensive. Won't go back

Stopped here today for lunch - one other couple in the restaurant. Couple ordered fish and chips just before us - waiter then came over to us whilst we were looking at the menu and advised we could only have a sandwich as the chef was 'too busy'. Room was freezing - heating was off and door wide open. Real... More

Not worth eating there EXCEPT breakfast which is fine. Service is slow- not enough staff and certainly no fine chefs in the kitchen. I expected more and was very disappointed.

Nearly £5 a pint is too much. Yes, it's a hotel but charge some reasonable prices and people will spend more time and money having a drink.

Chose the pie, as it was advertised as pie night. Thought this would be outstanding, described as chicken and mustard pie in shortcrust pastry. My father, who was a very decent pie maker would have shot the description down in flames. What was served up was an ashet of watery Chewey chicken casserole, topped with a piece of frozen puff... Plenty of choice on menu, good service only complaint is the amount of food ! Make sure your hungry portions are massive. Great value
