Good pizzas, friendly service, prices on the high side

Went here with my two teenagers to have pizza on a Friday evening. Booked only the day before. The restaurant was smaller than I had imagined - total seats about 25 divided over indoor and outdoor. Service was friendly and pretty quick. The pizzas were very good with fresh ingredients, clearly baked in a good stone oven. The prices are on the high side - total price was about 80eur for 3 pizzas and drinks.

Best pizza place in Finland, by far

ooooooooh YLP! This is really the best pizza place in the whole Finland. It's not just about the dough and crust, but also the surprises (I always order the chef's special), the combinations, the local produce, the beer and wine selection, the service, the atmosphere right in the heart of a gorgeous old town.

Great service and good pizza

The restaurant is unbelievable hyped and there was a long queue in front of the restaurant even before it was open. I believe that there was 30 or more people waiting outside. However, after opening the service was quick and kind and pretty well organized. The pizzas also came fast and were delicious but I’ve had better pizzas before so I wouldn’t travel to Tammisaari just for the pizza (like we did). It was fascinating how 98% of the products were local and that the place is a zero waste restaurant. Wonderful concept and we were overall happy with the experience.

Big disappointment

We arrived to the restaurant with high hopes after reading the reviews. Unfortunately the experience was a big disappointment 😔. We were waiting for more than an hour for the pizza’s 😣. And meanwhile the cook was preparing a take away order of 10 pizzas etc. There was no pre warning for a long waiting time. We addressed this two times with the waitresses. Not once did we get even a simple apology, and they didn’t even try to make it up in the bill or any other way. When we mentioned it, they just said “We just listen to the complaints”. We would not recommend this place even if the pizza that finally came was ok. We also tried to ask for the person responsible for the restaurant but there seemed to be nobody really responsible 🙄. And the owner was not to be found on the internet- we would have emailed him directly if it was possible. What a pity how poorly customer care is still handled in some restaurants that would otherwise be quite nice.

Innovative pizzas as ever but this time price-quality -ratio was not quite as good as the earlier experience. Theirs are heavy so one zza is enough for two. Innovative and very local so will try next time too

Best strange pizza in town (well, also (Northern) Europe)

The best dough, tomato sauce and cheese I've had on a pizza. And the strange toppings and combinations are between good and excellent. Among the strange ingredients I've had on my pizza are beetroot, pickled potato and herring, but luckily not on the same pizza. Most of their ingredients are plantbased. For a long time the meat products weren't up to the experience, but last time i had really good smoked lamb. Expect to queue. Expect a bit of an attitude, in a good way. Challenge yourself and try the herring. If you want more of a traditional pizza, try the Märkäriitta. Or maybe the cheesus or sieni (mushroom). I just hope their prices stop going up. Their prices have gone to almost the double since opening around five years ago.

Most interesting pizza in a long time (also very good)

We read about this place on Iltalehti, and it sounded so good we just had to check it out. Our expectations were completely justified: the pizza was delicious. We had the Märkäriitta (margherita) and Chefs Freestyle pizzas. Almost every ingredient on the freestyle one was something I'd never put on pizza (peas and radishes etc), but somehow it all just worked! Will definitely come again. Service was also super friendly, and people waiting in line were served water (it was a really hot day) and some even ordered wine and beer while waiting (inside the serving area which was chalked on the ground). What a great idea to offer :)

The epitome of feel-good food

YLP (Your Local Pizza) brings together the best of local produce and serves up pizzas made with attention to detail and of course amazing flavour. Expect a long wait for you pizza because of popularity and once you take a bite you do understand why! And it’s all finger-food, no utensils at this place. Cozy atmosphere, too. Highly recommend!

Delicious artezan pizzas

Stopped by here on a sunny afternoon with the extended family. The service was friendly and options delicous. Most locally sourced and vegetable-heavy. No milk available for the kids but other drink options good. The pizzas were delicious, chevy dough, tasty cheese, beautiful tomato sauce and interesting combinations of ingredients. Better suited for couples or adult groups than for families with small kids, but so tasty that one craves another go at it!

Best pizza I've eaten in my life. It has the Napoli-style but ingredients are local, resulting in heavenly good pizza. The ingredients are truly unique and I can just recommend to drink some local brew while eating a YLP pizza.

Our experience in Ylp! restaurant was excellent. The staff was professional, friendly and approachable. The atmosphere in the restaurant was chill and relaxed. We chose Cheesus-pizza and a chefs surprise: both pizzas were one of the best we had ever have. Almost all the ingrediabts were produced nearby.

The best pizzas I have ever eaten in Finland. Made with love for food and the world! Yes the waiting time was a lot, but it was worth it. Ingredients are locally sourced and amazingly fresh!

Very tasty pizzas and an unique menu with ingredients from local producers. Keep in mind though that you have to wait a bit to get a table on friday and saturday, due to table reservation not being available.
