Very low quality of the served kebab and no good behaviour from the person in charge . On the contrary the other personnel was polite. It is overestimated !!! The other dishes were decent, the wine very good.
Moussaka was ok nothing special. Sfela cheese on fire was not tasty at all certainly not hot. Spitiko salad was mediocre. Grilled shrimps with tartare sauce was good.
We highly recommend this taverna which is centrally located on the Boulevard overlooking the beach. This was our favourite choice for our evening meal. The staff were always very helpful, attentive & friendly. The menu which is mostly traditional Greek with a Cypriot influence, is...quite varied. Over the week we enjoyed large Greek salad, Horta (wild greens), deep fried sardines, Psariasoupa (fish soup), excellent Kalamari with a light batter, Chicken fillet chef's special, Chicken souvlaki, Veal in the oven, Lamb cooked in the oven. All servings were very generous and served hot usually with a choice of rice or French fries. Half a kilo of house white wine was 6 Euros. Each of our meals with wine, starter & two mains came to under 40 Euros.More
We visited with friends in hopes to have a decent dinner with a sea view . The starters were ok not great not bad , the lady server was a little off and behaved strangely as like we weren’t supposed to be there or they...were doing us a favor of some kind …. the mains where rather common and almost the same to other places around .the stuffed patty was nice but the rest weren’t tasty nor flavorful , rather big portions if you are aiming for quantity against quality . The male waiter was polite I can say despite his rather rude colleague.More
Food was very good, but we were shocked to pay 48€ for 4 aperol spritz (12€ each). It was not listed on the menu, so maybe that was the reason. I recommend to ask for the price first if you ask for spritz there
Average food with friendly staff. Nothing to scream about or particularly criticise just not to our tatse.
We have been coming to Gialova for years, and desperately sought somewhere that served a mix of traditional Greek taverna food with grills and alternatives for the nights that you want something different. The pandemic meant we couldnt' come here, but finally we have been...able to come back, and boy, was it worth waiting for! Spitiko is, without question, the place to go. We have eaten at many other eateries along the promenade, but here it is not just the food that is exemplary - the service is second to none. Personalised service is never too much trouble for the owner and his waitors, and we have always felt our needs were more than accommodated. On this occasion, my mum unfortunately was unwell (unrelated to food) and this affected her appetite, but each night they were more than happy to try and work something so that she could eat alongside us without risking making herself feel worse. I don't know many restaurants that would go above and beyond like that. As for the food.- yiouvetsi, lamb, fish, grilled meats - you will never be disappointed, Portions are generous, flavours are out of this world and the price, considering all of the other costs of living going up, is still very, very reasonable. There is something for everyone here. Lastly, a mention to the staff - never have we felt so welcomed anywhere else in the many parts of Greece that we have been to both from the islands and the mainland. That is not an exaggeration. This is testament to the direction and management of the owner and calibre of staff that work at the restaurant. A note to anyone who has not eaten Greek food before in a restaurant - it's not McDonalds, so you won't have your food in two minutes. If you want fast food, you're in the wrong country. This is quality, home-cooked food and patience is a virtue that will definitely be best served with a side order of chips with mizithra :) If you are in any doubt about where to eat when in Gialova, this has to be top of your list to try. When we return to Gialova in the future, we will of course be back!More
Service was excellent. Very friendly. Food was delicious without being pretentious. Happened to time the dinner with the sunset and both were spectacular.
After having tried many restaurants in Gialova, in my opinion it is the best restaurant of Gialova. Great variety and quality of the food. Everything is fresh and home made. Generous quantities and affordable prices. The service is very good, thank you Dimitrios for you...kindness. I highly recommend!More
As you can see we liked this place, there are several of a very similar nature but service and food here was what we wanted. Generally, service was average, could be slow, especially when wanting the bill - ask early. Good variety on the menu...to suit all tastes and prices we average for the area.More
Having tried a few restaurants in this area, Spitiko is our favourite. Please note, the restaurant name is 'To Spitiko'. During our stay at Costa Navarino, we ate here half the time. We enjoyed the cheese saganaki, zucchini balls, beef with orzo pasta and seafood...spaghetti. Beef was so tender and melts in your mouth. The sauce in the seafood pasta has a magic ingredient which raises the taste to the top. A good amount of prawns and mussels. All in all, excellent food and with reasonable prices. Last but not least, a shout out to Ahmed. He was polite, respectful and all round nice guy. Remembered our drinks from the first visit. From observation, a very hardworking guy. Great asset to the restaurant.More
Delicious food, friendly staff, altogether a lovely experience, with waves lapping below. Seafood pasta and Imam Biyaldi were delicious.
Everything was great, I especially liked the appetizers as well as the great variety of Greek dishes. What impressed me the most though, is that every piece of meat we ordered, whether chicken, pork, lamb or even octopus, was cooked to textbook perfection. Very well...done!More
Excellent food at great prices. Sat by the beach and enjoyed magnificent octopus and prawns. Great friendly service and superb location
