This seasonal village only has 49 full time residents, but O'Sullivan's is open daily serving good food, drink and great craic. About 115 km southwest of Cork, it's easy to get to. Right on the water, the view out the big front windows is tremendous. Warm, cozy fire on those colder, stormy days. Your hosts are incredibly friendly, and helpful with recommendations for the area. This is a seasonal location with many holiday homes in the area. Don't miss it on your travels in Ireland. Many things to see in the area (e.g., Mizen Head, Three Castle Head, and wedge tombs from 2,000 BC.

Took a drive down to Crookhaven as part of a birthday trip to Cork. Found this place and it’s a ‘gem’ too. Fantastic location. The vista is breathtaking. I had the seafood chowder with brown bread which was delicious, warming and just right for a mid-afternoon snack. It was quiet at this time of the year but the pub still had a good welcoming feel to it. Mainly provided by the great landlord who also walks through the wall and doubles as the shopkeeper in the general store next door. As it daily’s on the wall outside; ‘The most southerly pint in Ireland’, in probably the best location too. Go visit, but don’t tell everyone.

We've been here a couple of times for lunch when in the area, so made a point of returning. The food is really excellent & we generally choose seafood as it's super fresh & very well presented, but then cannot resist the gorgeous homemade desserts! Seating is available indoors & outdoors (weather permitting) The staff are efficient & friendly & the place was spotless. There were no delays whatsoever & Covid restrictions were adhered to fully, including passes checked on arrival, so very reassuring. It's a very popular place which is not surprising, so we'd definitely return when in the area again.

This place had been recommended to us but we were a little disappointed. We sat outside on a sunny day. The tables were busy. There was a very limited lunch menu and we thought it was quite expensive for what we got. Crookhaven was busy with families and visitors. Cars were constantly making u-turns next to our table because the road went no further and there was very limited street parking. For info, there is a field behind the village where you can park for free but beware it the ground is uneven.

Thanks for the review. It is a busy spot and we do offer our field. Our dinner menu next door in Nottage's is a more comprehensive offering and we also do casual dining with tapas in Nottage's in the evening. The breadth of the menu is decided by the size of our kitchen and team versus the demand we have, so we try and broaden the repertoire with our evening offering next door. Thanks for the feedback

Very disappointed with the open crab sandwich. This was advertised at the door and recommended by the waiter. The open sandwich was not on the price list and ended up costing us €21 each. Customers should be made aware of the extortionate price before choosing this option. We felt coaxed/tricked into this and it was definitely not worth the price for a small slice of brown bread with a little bit of crab on top.

We are so sorry you feel like that. The crab was off the menu for a year as we couldn't get it,indeed when we did the price had gone up substantially. The crab was on our special board under the menu board at the bar counter, and on the more recent menus also once we were sure of the supply.

I rang to ask if they had champagne we could buy and I was basically abused on the phone because the person I was speaking to said they were too busy to speak to me and that they didn’t have time to check for me. They asked if I was local and I said no and she said that was obvious because if I was I would know the restaurant was closed where she’d have to check for champagne. I rang back once I had hung up as I was disgusted with how I was spoken to and she basically said again , they were very busy and if I came in they’d speak to me. I said I wouldn’t be coming in and I was basically hung up on. The person I spoke to was rude and absolutely the opposite of what customer service should be. I’ve been coming to Crookhaven for years and have a mobile home locally and have never experienced anything like this. I will not be recommending or supporting this business again after my experience.

Our apologies for the response to your call, and indeed the tardiness of the response. All I can say is our apologies, I recall the phone call, it was in the middle of a crazy service, at the end of a busy busy summer. I didn't have the ability to leave the pass and check the vintage of the champagne we had in the restaurant nexr door. Yes I was short, so apologies there. You may not be back, but I would be happy to apologise in the flesh. It's been a difficult couple of years trading in Covid, and I wasn't my normal self.

You always get a warm reception and just great wholesome food. Chowder was especially good and sandwiches were all freshly made and deliçious. I love Crookhaven, have been coming 34 years now and never tire of how beautiful the area is

Came here with friends, on a recommendation. We were recommended to have the Seafood Chowder and the Open Crab, with a half of Murphys. We were able to sit outside and enjoy watching everyone else. The food was superb - unforgettable in fact. Great portions, quickly served by friendly young staff. One of the highlights of our trip.

I really enjoyed everything about this place. From the drive to get here, the location and the views. The friendly local feel about the place. The food, drink and service were excellent and enjoyable. The locals and employees and the owners all make you feel welcome and cared for..... Truly worth the trip to come and enjoy.

I love this spot. Right on the quayside. A perfect place for a quiet pint of Murphy’s. Was in the area and a bit unsure about visiting having read one or two negative reviews about disorganised for Covid precautions. Need not have worried- they were well organised;keeping customers socially distanced both in side and out . Good food- open crab sandwich and fish pie - pint of Murphy’s and all was well with the world despite a cool rainy day.

We stopped into O’ Sullivan’s today as we were passing through and we got the warmest of welcomes. We had our golden retriever with us and she was allowed inside as we enjoyed our drinks - it’s always so lovely to find such dog friendly places. The homemade scone with jam and cream was delicious and the staff were really friendly. The pub itself is cosy and inviting and we hope to come back again soon!

Mizen Head peninsula is eautiful and one of my favourite parts of Ireland. Crookhaven is a picturesque little harbour near Mizen Head and a lovely spot for a lunch and/or a pint. We had chicken and veg soup - very nice broth style with lovely brown bread. This is a bit of a touristvtrap though and priced accordingly. Two soups, a tea and a bottle of zero beer for 21 quid??

So sorry for the delay, the soup is 6.00 for a bowl, which should be competitive locally, and a bottle of zero zero is €5. It sounds like you inadvertently got charged for Seafood Chowder. Please call us and we'll reimburse the €4. Our apologies. Best Regards Der and Linda

Called in after a visit to Mizen Head, great location however the parking is a bit tight. Had the Chowder, presently surprised with the hint of chorizo in the tomato based Spanish chowder. Out of the way but the location is stunning and the staff are very friendly.

Ultra-friendly staff (owner’s daughter,) with the charisma and love of the trade that really makes a difference. Chowder & pint of Murphy’s were great! All within an area of underestimated natural beauty, coming diwn from Brow Head with a view of the Fastnet lighthouse.
