Cozy restaurant with beautiful view, the nicest staff and a menu full of traditional dishes from Lapland and vegan favourites ensured a pleasent visit for everyone of us. After a 10 hour drive i decided to check out what restaurants utsjok had to offer. After reading reviews i ended up going to the Aurora restaurant down by tanaelva (at least what we call it in Norway). And let me tell you i was...not dissapointed. Lovely place with great view over the river. The headchef gave me a warm welcome and guided me though the very interesting menu. I ended up going for a pumpkin soup as a starter and "finnbiff" with mashed potato and lingonberry as maincourse. All the ingrediens are locally harvested and combined in this rich and tastefull meal. It had a innovative homemade feel to it where all the ingredients had a purpose and combined made it into a fullfilling taste of nordic wilderness.More

All the food here is locally sourced and is delicious. Certainly not what you'd expect given the remoteness of the location!

Reindeer kebab! What a WONDERFULL idea.. Our family has visited there many times and never been disappointed. They serve gluten free food also. Lady of the house Tiina have always some time to chat with us about the area and life in there but we...do not want to bother her to much cos she is also the heart of the kitchen. Unfortunately the restaurant is closed for dine-in service at the moment due to COVID restrictions, but they do offer a great take-away service instead. I ordered the Seitan Kebab with fries and it was absolutely delicious. The food was still warm and the portion was...very generous. Very nice flavours and the kebab sauces were a nice addition. Will definitely be ordering that again. 10/10 vegetarian kebab meal!More

They recommend us this restaurant to eat local food and going there has been the best decision. We ate sauteed reindeer and cod from the artic ocean and we can only say DELICIOUS. We also ate sticky date cake and rhubarb pie that Tiina recommended...us and it was also amazing. The place is wonderful and the views are incredible. We recommend 100% this restaurant. I've had the pleasure to dine at the Restaurant Aurora Holidays a few times now and each time was a fantastic experience. There is a great choice of dishes from tasty Reindeer Kebab (which is made in house - even the sauces!) to warming soups...and homemade sweet treats. The restaurant has great service and will accommodate special dietary requests. And to top it all off the view from the large, river-facing windows is spectacular year-round. If you're lucky, you might spot some local wildlife!More

A hidden gem close to Utsjoki Center! We vidited the place twice, both time the Welcome was was warm and happy. Food is made from local ingredients and Tiina has a great feel for her food. Restaurant is new and fresh, with large windows faceing...Teno river.More

Restaurant Aurora Holidays opened last winter and I had several occasions to eat there. For the quick and cheaper bite, they serve a fantastic homemade reindeer kebab (the reindeer herded by the same family who own the restaurant), so local food with a twist! If...you want traditional local food, they serve my favourite: reindeer stew with mashed potatoes and lingonberry jam. They also have vegetarian dishes on the menu so really everyone can go there. Finally, this review wouldn't be complete if I didn't mention the view. The restaurant has big, bright windows overlooking the Teno River and the valley. In the summer, you'll enjoy your meal (or drinks) while watching the fishermen pass by on their small boats. I will go again (and again!).More
