We stayed here for one night last week and although our evening meal was good, the breakfast was disappointing. The room we were given was very tired looking and the bathroom had a bath but no shower. Okay for something to eat but not for an overnight stay.

What a great place to stay we were welcomed and well looked after by the landlord and the staff rooms were great and the food is some of the best I have had. The home made pies were beautiful as was the rest of the food we had. The beers and ciders are top quality too. I certainly aim to... More

We'd heard lots of good things about The Crown so we decided to try for ourselves. We called in on the off chance that they were cooking all day last Friday. The owner was a lovely man and really interesting to talk to. Food was fantastic all cooked perfectly. I finished off with the cheese board that could have fed... More

We've quite recently become locals, and this is just a nice, comfortable, relaxed place to be in the first instance. But also a hub - that's hub, as well as pub. On numerous occasions the landlord and staff have looked after us: hungry and few minutes late for the end of service - the kitchen will do what they can;... More

Went with my husband, son and our dog for a Saturday tea time meal. David the owner and ALL of the staff were so welcoming. They couldn't do enough for us. All the food was fantastic, proper comforting country pub food and atmosphere. If your stopping at the green caravan/camping site it's a must! Maybe an idea to book as... More

We called in at this pub on a very busy bank holiday looking for lunch for 11 people - 7 adults and 4 children. We asked whether they had a table for 11 people fully expecting to get a negative answer. But in fact, after a quick discussion with the landlord, they were prepared to give us a large table... A 16th Century pub with a welcoming atmosphere and good food. I brought my friend from California with me to have a very tasty meal on our way back from visiting Shrewsbury to my home. The landlord noticed that my friend was admiring the horse brasses and delighted her by making a gift of several to take back to the... More

David and James make you feel very welcome. The menu is varied with good food which would suit most peoples tastes and is reasonably priced. The pies come in two sizes which is ideal if you have a small appetite The pub has a friendly atmosphere, I would recommend calling in if you are in the area.

Visited Shropshire for the bank holiday weekend and so glad we found this place Our room was perfect , Very comfortable, warm and spacious. Service was also faultless and owners were especially welcoming and friendly throughout. Nice selection of breakfast options which we enjoyed each morning but the real highlight was the lunch/dinner menu A great variety of food on... More
