We visited the Three Tons, a well known local pub due to the brewery next door and its food.. 6 of us had an evening meal, washed down the triple xxx real ale and wine.. The food and service were good with a varied but not large choice of meals. We were well looked after and had a great meal,... More

Very good. My daughter and I ordered from the sandwich menu which offered us a selection of bread types. We had done a rather strenuous walk earlier in the day and so also ordered a portion of chips each. However the sandwich alone would have been enough as it was a mighty size and the fillings were generous. Very nice... More

Nipped in for a pint but stayed for a couple more. Nice old fashioned pub. No food Sunday evening but it was well advertised in the pub. We were eating elsewhere so it wasn't an issue.

Visited this pub a couple of times during our stay in Bishop's Castle. Can't speak for the food as we didn't eat but the quality of the beers from the brewery next door was excellent Cleric's Cure and XXX being my particular favourites! Staff were great with dog and gave him a couple of biscuits which he loved. Cosy open... More

Superb evening meal, beer very good staff very attentive couldn't fault the service. Early January evenings, some restaurants are closed and it was good to find a pub open and friendly.

One of the outstanding countryside pubs. Situated in the old town of Bishops Castle. Great food and a selection of great ales brewed a few yards away. Multiple rooms some food orientated some more traditional pub style.

Sadly we were rather disappointed as the food was not as good as we had expected. Steak very chewy, duck - small portion and one of the fish was not fully cooked, they had none left so my friend had to order a different meal. However the pork dish was very tasty and all the food was very hot. Good... More

Had been recommended by a local, saw on website that food started At 6.30pm. We turned up to a half empty pub at 6, got asked by a grumpy barman if we wanted to eat, said yes, he told us we couldn't have food till 7.30, no apologies or any conversation so we left sharply and went to the Boars... A really nice pub, one of the best in town. I had a delicious steak and chips washed down with marvellous beers from the brewery next door. Staff were great too. A vibrant, friendly atmosphere. Definitely worth another visit.

Thank Mike A
