This restaurant comes highly recommended in multiple guidebooks--and the reputation is well deserved. We enjoyed an excellent, memorable meal with congenial service. Reservations are recommended. We went on a weekday night and parking was a challenge; I don't think we'd book to eat there on...More

My wife and I ate here on a Friday night. We wanted to go to the Three Tuns given its reputation as one of the earliest licensed breweries. The place is very interesting, quite large and rambling. The bar area is quite busy and despite...More

3 Friends met up at the Three Tuns. The log fire was a wonderful welcome. We ate Burgers. The plate was more than enough with chips salad and a two tier burger onion ring tomato and BBQ sauce. Phew! The staff we friendly and efficient....More

Having read all of the positive reviews, we thought we were in for a treat. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and there was no problem getting a table. The menu is varied with the addition of some specials which sounded appealing. Perhaps we...More

I visited the pub for a lunchtime meal. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. The pub itself is steeped in history and is surprisingly roomy because it is set on a hill and has three floors.

Good food and beer following an enjoyable drive up the back roads of the Welsh border. Get a cosy window seat in the bar.

After a day's walking in the Shropshire Hills we had dinner here. When we reserved our table we were asked to make our menu choices in advance which can be a bit irritating trying to decide what you want before you go. However, it meant...More

The famous and historic Three Tuns Inn, (known locally as 'The Tuns') set at the top of Bishops Castle has been open since 1642! A deceptively large interior offers lounge, conservatory, snug, front bar and function room. Standing on the site of the oldest licensed brewery in the U.K, The Tuns offers modern eclectic cuisine using simple locally sourced ingredients in a happy, friendly, bustling environment and of course serves a wonderful array of real ales from the on site brewery. Pub and brewery are now separate businesses, but work very closely together to help create a truly worthwhile and memorable visit to this hidden gem of a market town, hidden away in the Shropshire hills, designated an area of outstanding natural beauty.
