Very popular cafe in town

Karkiainen cafe has been very popular cafe already tens of years. Café has a good selection of different cakes, but also some sandwiches, etc.

Easy coffee break

When in Tornio, this a very easy-going place for an easy coffee break. Very basic selection of prett fresh and affordable delicacies. Easy to visit but unfortunately easy to forget.

Gluten Free sandwich

We called in here for lunch on our way back to Kemi from the Polar Explorer Icebreaker cruise. Unfortunately they didn't have any GF cakes but were able to make us each a sandwich on GF bread - both of which were delicious. Very helpful...staff - and the cakes did look yummy!More

Not for dieters

They really know how to bake, so do not visit this place if you are in a diet! I visited this place on Dec 6th and experienced the cale buffet. So delicious that I will go back when they have the next cale buffet.

Nice café in the center

Karkiainen is one of the best bakeries of Tornio and I can warmly recommend the buckwheat rieska for those who prefer gluten free bread. Top it with some salmon and a nice drink, voilà! The selection of cakes and other products is quite big and...the outside terrace is a wonderful place to sit in during summer months.More
