Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a gem and if serious about your Italian food, don’t miss it! The attention to detail is just outstanding and yet every meal choice has a particular flair. One of the top choices is the unique sliced and deep fried polenta dipped into blue cheese or porcini mushrooms sauce. Awesome.
The views and ambience are just awesome and the sunny day we had on the terrace having a lazy lunch was one of the best I remember.
Thank you so much to Chef Damiano , Nicole and all the team for a memorable meal. I can’t recommend it more but one warning…. Book well in advance !

If you only had time to enjoy the beautiful views... staff here is super friendly, food is great (try the Tartare and take a artichocke salad to go with it) or one of the other local dishes with best quality ingredients. We will come back next year hopefully

Great mountain restaurant near the mid station at Valtournenche. Stay high and take Red 1 or 1a and you will not be disappointed!

It's just by one of the red pistes off Cime Bianchi quite near the bottom of the run. Nothing fancy in terms of the hut but the owner is chatty and the prices are sensible. A cappuccino & an Americano with hot milk for a grand total of €2.70. Excellent value! The food looked ok - decent prices again and your typical Italian mountain cuisine cooked with love.

A disappointment. Although there were several waiters, we basically had to beg for a menu.
The place has no real charme.
The spaghetti we ordered took an eternity although there were only few orders.
No smile, no sorry. The Coffee was good though.
I always thought in Italy you cannot go wrong. I was wrong.
Avoid at all costs.

Don't miss this mountain restaurant. Warm welcome, very good food and a nice terrace. When coming from the Bec Carré stay always on the left to find the restaurant nested on the pist going down to Valtournenche. Our luncheon for Christmas was remarkable. The owner Pietro recommended the Tomahwak steak for two (50 Euros) When it arrived on the table it looked very impressive, 1,2 kg of tender beef from Irland accompanied by various vegetables. It was so delicious that we eat it all! A real delight. For pasta lovers this is also a place to recommend.

Its been a few years since I have boarded here but I was happy to see this place again. We had a light lunch ham and cheese toasties a bear and a glass of wine.
very good value for money.
If you sit in the area with table cloths its waitress service.
If you sit in the area without you order at the bar
As for the toilets, the ladies toilets are conventional (don't ask me how I know, I don't do ski slope toilets ;) )
Next time I'm back I'll be coming back here.

Relaxed and unpretentious Italian ski lunch with the most stunning mountain views. Usual mountain fare served by helpful staff who found us a place outside on a busy day. Everything you hope to find in a lunch on the slopes

I just happened to look up Lo Baracon Dou Tene on the web to see if they would be open in the summer and read some negative reviews. My family and I went skiing in Valtournenche at Christmas time in 2015-2016. When we go skiing we often stop at one of the rifugios for a light lunch. However, when we first stopped at Lo Baracon Dou Tene and had a proper Italian lunch, we were immediately hooked! The food, service and views were beyond excellent. I would HIGHLY recommend this establishment and intend to go back this summer when we go hiking. To say anything negative about this place is beyond my comprehension.

Best food, best service in the entire Cervinia ski region.
And at very reasonable price.
Try the Lobster pasta at 16€. You get a good Nebbiolo at 15€ and a super Brunello or Amarone at 55€.
Best of recommendations

I take no pleasure in writing a negative review of a restaurant but Baracon deserves it. First the positives. The view is wonderful. It has a great outdoor deck. It's clean and has efficient albeit perfunctory table service. It has clean washrooms although it would be nice if they got rid of the squat toilets. (Yes, I said squat toilets) Really impossible with all your ski gear. Now the bad. We had pasta. A ravioli dish and a tagliatelle dish with game sauce. The pasta was overcooked and the sauce was watery. They should be ashamed of themselves. But view was amazing, and the espresso good.

It was a liberation to arrive here through the snow storm. We quickly got a table in mid lunch-rush. We were immediately served by very attentative and professional staff, who guided us through the menu (although it was rather straight forward, we follow some diets and got good support with that), and brought us enjoyable, satisfying home cooked meals that rejuvenated our spirits for the remaining skiing in snow storm.

We decided to have lunch at this place mainly because of its remote position - we thought that since it's a bit on a side, the chances are it would not be packed. And we were correct - the place was half empty...nonetheless the staff was not managing to serve people in a decent pace. A guy who arrived after us already received his meal before we even ordered. The waitress had a terrible attitude and instead saying she's sorry for making people wait she kept saying with an upset tone that she was on her own (which actually wasn't true), as if it was our fault that we wanted to order something. People were made wait before they could pay and one guy even got yelled at when he wanted to order a cake&coffee - it turned out if you don't order "proper" food, you will not even be served!
