Cheapeaux to a great chef!

What a pitty having to leave Valtournanche and not being able to eat here again and again. We stayed here at Christmas eve and had to come again before leaving. Even though the place hasn’t got a very warm decor, the food they prepare is delicious to say little.

Great food and service

Excellent food, excellent service We had tagliatelle with black truffle, with porcini, we had one game dish and traditional pork shin with polenta. We had the best tiramisu and tortino (chocolate soufflé). The restaurant is small and I guess it is very busy for lunch and dinner. We came for a late lunch during the week and this is one of the gew places which work at this time. Highly recommended!

Booking recommendedcas always busy

We finally managed to book a table as always so busy and were not disappointed. Our meals were very good something a bit different from the other local restaurants with friendly helpful staff.

Meat roulette, would not recommend

If I order lamb I think it is reasonable to get lamb and not pork. I would say it is an easy mistake to make but it is not. After such a mistake, the best thing to do is own up not go on the offensive and insist it is lamb. We were not even offered an apology! Apart from that everything was fine.

The second dinner in this place

It looks like nothing special... a cafe on the road. Simple name, easy menu... but you fall in love in since the first... drink of wine or espresso. Or from the first ordered meal... pasta, risotto or Raclette... no matter what you oder. Very kind and helpful staff and unbelievably tasty meal... only one my sorrow... I had here only two dinners.

Good food with local touch

Four people with different dishes. All very good. We starten with cold ham, cheese etc, very good. The house wine was more than ok. A lot of locals at the restaurang, thats positive.

Wow! Great local cuisine with no tourists

Recommended by our hotel as a local spot featuring typical regional fare. The lack of recent trip advisor reviews was a plus. Went early for a drink. Dinner starts at 7. Lots of local guys hanging around chatting and drinking. Everyone knows everyone else here. Lots of wines by the glass which are super cheap. Be aware that not a lot of English is spoken by the wait staff and everyone in the place spoke Italian. Menu did have English though. Ordered polenta which is a regional specialty along with the fresh tagliatelli with tartufo. And then the wurst. We split it all. Had a great bottle of red wine. Service was amazing and the food incredible. Highly recommend.

Amazing food at good price

Really good Italian food, the restaurant fells really genuine. Prices is good as well on main dish with a beer and a glass of wine with Som cheese to dessert was 27 euro

The best food, lovely atmosphere, brilliant service

5 of us went to the restaurant for the New Years Eve dinner. Compliments to chefs, food was really good and we were impressed! The only disappointment was vegetarian lasagna (Lasagna Carasau), which was quite old and overcooked while heating. Everything else was great, including: Local cheese board, snails (lumache panchettate con panna, patate e polenta) and risotto (risotto carnaroli alla barbabietola con broccoletti spadellati e ciliegina di bufala) are highly recommended. Their desert of the day (la nostra proposta delle torte) with ricotta cheese, chocolate and coconut was the best dessert I have ever had in a restaurant. Service was great, even though their English was limited the staff was extremely helpful, friendly and nice. Overall, I would highly recommend this place and would definitely come back again and again.
