Despite all the reviews warning of the need to book a table we assumed that a Tuesday evening would be quiet…wrong! The lovely lady (they’re all lovely) managed to squeeze us in to a table for two just in front of the wine rack/wall. The...place was buzzing but we were in no rush, although we didn’t actually have to wait long at all. Scallops in seafood sauce starter was exceptional but we were really there for the steak and had pushed the boat out by ordering from the special section of the menu (USA ribeye and fillet as recommended by the very friendly waiter, accompanied by a bottle of red which tasted quite robust until partnered with the meat when it became just the right choice). Be warned! Every review which mentions the portion size is understating the reality, these were huge and would easily have fed two people. Large portions often disguise poor quality but not here, these were among the best steaks I’ve ever tasted. The fillet was medium/rare and to be honest there were bits which seemed barely cooked (did I eat them? Yes I did) and the sheer size of the ribeye meant that my wife’s preference for medium to mean “cooked through” didn’t match the chef’s preference. She ate round the sides, I helped with the middle section but I’m sure if we’d asked they would have cooked it a bit more. Very little went to waste, a great deal went to my waist! With a lemon meringue pie, brandy and a glass of fizz the bill for two (well deserved tip included) came to 200€ but we could easily have enjoyed the meal for half that sum. A special occasion meal as our first trip to Ferragudo comes to an end. If we return we would certainly come back here, maybe we wouldn’t eat for a day or two beforehand next time… Be aware, cash only.More

We rang and managed to get a table, but wouldn’t have done if we had just shown up. Goat’s cheese in honey, Uruguayan rib eye and a tiger prawn and Banoffee cheesecake. Good food and wine and great atmosphere, as ever :)

Booked this place after reading all the hype. It was ok. Plate of steak with gravy, but no chips or vegetables so a bit boring and extremely salty. Ribs were slightly tough - certainly not “melt in your mouth”. Plenty of other restaurants offering just...as good or better offerings. Maybe if we’d paid for the more expensive steaks our expectations would have been met?More

This place is just awesome, the food the staff the owners the atmosphere, you will not find a better restaurant anywhere

Ordered rack of lamb which was under cooked in the middle, they tried to cook it a bit more but was quite tough as a result. Cost refunded but evening spoilt.

We booked in advance for this restaurant as it was constantly booked. Lovely atmosphere and spotless clean. Ordered fillet steak with mushroom sauce and a peppercorn sauce. The meal arrived and was astounded as there were 2 pieces of steak on the plate!! There were...chips, fresh coleslaw, red cabbage and a portion of rice. The steak was cooked lovely, but far too much sauce poured all over. Spoilt it really as it overpowered the taste of the steak. Had I realised I would have had the sauce separate. The food was lovely, portions very generous indeed and value for money. Overall, we enjoyed it, but not really big eaters so it’s excellent if you have big appetites.More

My wife & I have visited Ferragudo seven times in the past decade and with each of our visits, we always make it our top priority to get a booking at Fim do Mundo; one of the top two restaurants in Ferragudo! Although we are...in Ferragudo for a 17-day stay, we were unfortunately only able to get one booking (we should have made bookings prior to our visit - this restaurant IS THAT GOOD! On our most recent visit, my wife and I ordered the Monkfish Cataplana which was absolutely mouth-watering. It is one of those dishes that you want to savour as long as you can. We had a table outside which was great because of the nice cool breeze. The inside of the restaurant was packed and perhaps a bit warm as we noticed a few folks come out for a breather. The service as always was very friendly, very professional and very efficient. The value for the quality of the food was also not worthy so it was a great evening all the way around. We are coming back in September 2023 and plan to make at least two bookings BEFORE we arrive!More

I have visited this restaurant many times over the years and it never fails to impress both in terms of the quality of the food and the level of service. There is plenty of choice of meats but be warned: the portions are large. Be...sure to book in advance as I saw around a dozen families that hadn't, turned away.More

Incredibly cool restaurant serving great meat and fish choices. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The steak I ordered was the best. Highly recommend.

We used the restaurant twice, should have been just the once, but it was so good I managed to “convince” Jo to let us go again on the Friday evening. Couldn’t have asked for more. We had a four year old, Rosie, with us, and...Jo made a real fuss of her, even taking her with a pad to take orders from other diners, she loved it. Jo and Fiona were fantastic. A real family atmosphere, regulars came in (always a good sign) Food was really nice, very large plates though, even for children. Don’t eat for at least 24 hours before you go 😂. Highly recommend this restaurant and will be back there when I’m back in FerragudoMore
