Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I visited this restaurant about 5 years ago and the food was amazing so thought I would come back with my wife for my birthday as a treat. The main course was limited to around 4 dishes (none of which were either vegetarian or vegan),...but I decided to have the pork schnitzel which was very average and my wife had an equally average dish. This would have been acceptable if each dish only cost around 6 euros but not 20. The service was great but food disappointing. I suggest either changing the chef or charging less for the food as I can't see this restaurant surviving. We were the only couple in the restaurant that evening so perhaps that says something. I will not be returning and neither would i recommend this restaurant. Overpriced with food you would expect from school canteen.More

We have visited this restaurant for a business diner and I can only highly recommendet. Beef tartare - I have never ever had a better one. Mushroom creamy soup was ok. Griled duck breast served with puree of marinated red cabbage, bread dumplings, duck demi...glace was also delicious. So if you would like to have great dinner and it is not problem to pay more than in standart restaurant, just go a head.More

I stayed here in May 2017 whilst attending a business fair in Nitra. I would describe it at a restaurant with rooms rather than a hotel, there's no night service for example, and the doors close at 10pm. That being said the rooms are modern...and well furnished with aircon a positive bonus on such a hot few days. The standard of food is absolutely top draw, I had an excellent fillet steak and the blackened cod was also very good. This is also a distillery for Slivovitz and I tried a couple of the 52% proof samples. Very nice. Prices were very reasonable and represented great value. It's very quiet there and no disturbances at all. If you want nightlife then it's not for you.More

Went there for a wedding. Service and food are both very good. Small place, charming, with nice houses. Rooms are clean, new and well equipped, service is very helpful and quick. But rooms are totally not noise isolated. You can hear neighbours above you, outside...you room, etc.More

We went to a friends wedding here and stayed over night. The staff were attentive and polite and they looked after us through into the early hours, the food and drink was also really good. The room we had was room 3, it was very...clean and up to date, the bed for me was very comfortable. This has a lot of history and tradition in making the local distillates and there is a small tour that you can do at your own request. In a very rural village, it's a surprising venue, I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a rural get away for a night or two.More

We went for the family dinner since we know the place and have several parties there. The location is very romantic, the food is very nice especially the meats as steak etc. same goes for deserts and it's worthwhile to try also local destilled liquore...as cherry and pear brandy. However the waitress we had yesterday was extremely rude. We have ordered some fruit tea (infusion) and received some tea looking more like black tea. After asking several times if this is realy a fruit infusion as we don't drink black tea, we were assured that it is. However once we tasted it it became clear its black one. So we asked other waiter and he have confirmed its a black tea with fruit taste. So we have returned and asked for other tea. After we paid the bill, we have realised they charged us for the "tea", so we have asked for the credit. The waitress said it can't be done in very rude way, and then ask her collegue to pay us some cash back not to "suffer some damages" which was very inappropriate considering we had paid the bill of over 160 eur. So based on this experience we don't plan to go back or recomend this place to our friends- unfortunat situation for a nice place otherwiseMore

We visited the Pálenica restaurant - "Destilery restaurant" on our friend recommendation and we were pleasantly surprised. It is quite easy to find this place in Jelšovce thanks to directional signs. The inner part of the restaurant is located in the old building of the...original distillery. Service is professional and can help choosing from the the not very well assembled menu. In menu you can find everything from Italian cuisine through fish, steaks and classic Slovak cuisine. It is a little strange mix of "everything". Bet on the classics - steaks and you will not leave disappointed :) Do not forget to try some dessert, they are really nice, too. And of course you should not miss local brandy - the Premium wild cherry is the best there.More
