Fancying a spot of lunch on a chilly day before a walk up the banks of the nearby river Severn, my wife and I popped in The Anchor - and we're glad we did. This is a well established dining pub which has been in...More

Warm welcome on a frosty evening. Great menu, cosy log fire, friendly staff. Chose the vegetarian tagine and my husband ordered a steak, service was really quick and the food delicious. Thanks for another great evening.

A typical country pub on the surface but they sure know how to satisfy the hungry. Simple fare but done very well and washed down with a decent pint.

We stayed for 3 nights – the room was large, bright, clean and airy. Prettily decorated with a large bathroom – it was a weekend of luxury in a beautiful village. The pub downstairs is very welcoming – there is a bar, lounge and restaurant....More

To conclude our weekend in Bristol we had Sunday lunch in this pub. They operate 2 servings and we chose the 14:00 sitting. We had roast beef, followed by desert. The meal was well cooked and presented and represented good value in a very pleasant...More

Overcooked liver and small portions. Not expensive but I would prefer to pay more for better quality. Apparently it was the chef's day off. I would have to be convinced that this level of quality was not the new normal before I return.

The dining room at the Anchor is light and bright with double doors leading out onto the beautiful garden. With elegant country style decor and seating 40, it is extremely popular, so it is always a good idea to ring before you come or call and make a reservation. On Sundays we always offer at least two different roast meat dishes at lunch time. You can dine informally in the garden - in the summer, lounge and public bar where the menu is the same as in the dining room. Although children are most welcome in the dining room and can have great fun playing in the garden, we do like to keep the pub side for adults only.
