Staying close by with family, service was excellent and food was superb, much better than expected. I had venison, cooked to perfection and children's meals we're really good, very little left. Highly recommended.

Having been to the Red Lion before we were expecting food of a good quality and were definitely not disappointed tonight. The menu is varied with the specials board adding to the options and what excellent value at £16.95 for three courses! The food was all freshly prepared with good size portions and beautifully presented! Service was attentive and friendly... More

As usual excellent food with fantastic service. Use this restaurant all the time for a nice meal and Xmas day was a lovely atmosphere. We were not rushed to eat and go. Looking forward to more successful visits in 2017.

Went to the Red Lion Restaurant in Penyffordd on 12 January 2017 also known as The Sycamores. I ordered the gammon egg and pineapple, my husband ordered chicken pie and chips. We have eaten here quite regularly over the past 6 years. May I say firstly, the gammon, egg and chips have always arrived accompanied with mushroom, tomato and vegetables.... More

Fantastic Christmas Day meal at the Red. The meal was excellent and the staff were attentive. The timings between courses was just right, we were never hurried as the table was ours for the day. We arrived at 1pm and left at 4pm. It is the first time we have had dinner out on Christmas day and would not hesitate... More

We usually dine at least once every couple of weeks at this restaurant whilst visiting family in Penyffordd and are usually happy with the food served to us. Unfortunately this evening we found the food to be not up to usual standard. I ordered the beef chilli which is served with nachos and soured cream (that's what it says on... More

What a great place to start or finish your walk or even start and finish here! We had a lovely lunch for four from their lite bites menu and the sih and chips were delicious and a very generous portion too!

Terrible problems which could have been dealt with professionally if a senior member of management was on duty. I applaud the way the young members of staff dealt with lengthy delays but had a senior member of staff been present these... More
