We went on a a small plates night. It was delicious. Great wine selection and knowledge as we asked for recommendations. I had a Moscow mule which was very good. We had most of the small plates between our party of 4. They were all very delicious. My favorite was the mac and cheese with pulled and braised pork belly.... More

My husband and I ate a beautiful, delicious meal at this fine establishment last Friday evening. The setting is relaxed and casual, and the food is delicious with lovely presentation. The music sets the tone with folksy tunes befitting of this charming rural lakefront village playing lightly in the background. We'll definitely be back.

Visited during the summer, sat outside on the side patio. Service was good, ordered a bottle of wine with our meal. We also ordered a few appetizers to share. The lamb poutine, Caesar salad, Beet Appetizer. The lamb poutine was ok (they could have done a better job in picking the huge fatty pieces of the meat - certainly 70... More

Quaint and lovely restaurant in Wakefield. Very friendly staff. We went on tapas night, for shareable plates as a couple and were not dissapointed. The dishes were a mix of comfort foods taken to the next level as well as original fusion type dishes. We highly recommend this restaurant.

We went on a Sunday. Sunday's they do small plates only. These delicious dishes come quickly and are meant to be shared. Two dishes per person was perfect for us. It was our best meal in Wakefield. This would be a top restaurant even if it was in downtown Ottawa. One of my top ten favorites

I felt immediately comfortable when I walked through the door. It's like being in someone's house. You can sit in the kitchen by the bar and watch the cooks do their thing or sit in the homey dining room. Very casual and friendly atmosphere. The food was very good. I had potato wrapped shrimp with a tomatillo sauce as an... More

Generally great food, service was nice as well. Cosy place with a patio, though looks like it could get pretty tight if packed. Had beet and blue cheese salad for appetizer, which was outstanding, as was the short ribs and gnocchi main course. My husband's veggie main was not spectacular, but not bad. Only suggestion is to use more sour... More

We ate dinner on the lovely patio at The Village House and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. It was taco and wing nite so we ordered an assortment of tacos as well as duck tostadas. The flavours and variety were outstanding.

We went as a rare night out and I'm so glad we spend it at The Village House. We sat on the patio and tried at least 6 small plates that we're all delicious and it was lovely. The service was awesome, our server made great recommendations during the meal and for a place to go for drinks after.

Had Brunch with daughter and her hubby on a Saturday morning. Highly recommend Fried Chicken and Waffles but everything we tried was served in ample portions, tasted like home cooking and delicious. Service was outstanding and we felt like part of the family throughout the experience.
