Great roast and burgers sitting by the sunny Thames. Staff friendly. Prices competitive. Lovely decked area and child meals were brilliant!

Steve the new manager has made a difference very early in his new position. A group of us visited last night to watch the rugby. Steve had cleaned up the garden and outside bar and made it really very nice. A TV behind the outside bar for the people to watch the rugby, great idea, although a little chilly after... More

Nothing wrong with this place, it is quite cozy, and the staff are friendly, and location wise well placed for river walks, the weir is not far away, Evenings are nice at this place, but there are better places not too far away, Hope this has been of some help for you...

I'm a 'local' and a frequent visitor to the phoenix. Most days for 2/3 hours per day but I accept less frequent for evenings as I object to the ' culture' that seems to be now acceptable in the phoenix during evening sessions The food is to die for, portions can depend on the chef but they are always a... Went into the Phoenix and was disgusted to find, two year old children running riot, noisy, no enthusiasm from the staff. Management get your act together, or you won,t have any clients.

What a difference a few months make. I was here back in September last year singing its praises. Last night there were 6 of us having a meal in the restaurant and what a different experience. We arrived at 7.00 pm. We were rushed into ordering drinks and these came pretty promptly. A bottle of red house wine, a jug... More

How can a pub like this offer " Rugby with a curry and a pint for £9.95" and then have no beer! This pub is clearly being run buy people that have no idea how to run a pub! It runs out of beer more often than you can imagine. This causes grief for the staff, and anybody who may... More

Went to this pub shortly before Christmas with a friend (reluctantly - after refusing to go for the last year, due to a previous experience with a landlord from hell!) and I was so shocked! The lady that greeted us was friendly, the fire was roaring, we drank a fair amount, so the beer must have been great, the wifi... More

Service dreadful, waitresses not interested in serving customers, manager off duty so no standards and food was very average! It was like a kindergarten in the bar area. Pity because the setting is lovely and the fire area could be nice and cosy!

The Phoenix has recently been purchased by Authentic Pub Co who are in the process of drawing up plans for a major refurbishment of the pub and garden. In the meantime we have given the place a thorough clean and 'blitzed' the beer and lager lines. We now serve a range of well kept beer and lager. We have put a small but carefully selected wine menu in which offers a range of wines by both the glass and bottle. We have totally redesigned the menu and now offer a selection of freshly prepared dishes including home made pies and burgers. We hope to close in January for our refurbishment but will keep you posted closer to the time, in the meantime we hope you enjoy the little changes we have made. Hope to see you all soon.
