We had two meals from here. The first a delicious dinner of fish fillet cooked in garlic, Marga at Luna del Rio arranged to have delivered to her hotel as it was raining extremely heavily. The second a vegetable pasta lunch, we took at their...restaurant located a little way down the main street, there is a two platform structure to the rear with good views over the river. Beer is very cold and prices are good. Can't fault it, we very much enjoyed both of our meals here.More

Best seafood I’ve had in Nicaragua. Try the snook...lovely tender tostones too. The room isn’t much, but it does look over the rapids. Friendly service.

My partner and I had dinner here and it was fabulous. We asked the owner what he recommended and went with it. It was a good choice. The jalapeño chicken was delicious, and my steak was excellent as well. Before we ate here we had...rented a canoe from Darwin, the son of the owners. He also offers guide services. While we did not use his guiding services, the canoe he rented us was in good shape, as we're the paddles which often times are awful in these parts. The price for the canoe was $15 per day which I thought to be very high. This was my second time paddling the Río San Juan and last time I think it was around $15 for the whole trip. He wouldn't budge in the price and I begrudgingly paid it because I wasn't going to cancel the trip over a few dollars. Later that day we were at a bar and while we were sitting there a meeting formed for all the guides/transportation services providers in the town. We overheard them discussing pricing and turns out $15 is the set rate for the whole town. So turns out Darwin wasn't trying to rip off a couple of gringos and I felt bad for assuming so.More

After searching all over town for fish for our lunch, we founded at a rustic local restaurant Daryzy, it was well very good. Snook fish filet and whole guapote, they also had very cold beer. We sit at a table right on top of the...river overlooking the rapids, it was an enjoyable experience.More
