Just came back from a tasty dinner at this restaurant. My wife and I both had the fish with jalapeño sauce. It's a light white sauce with plenty of onions, and a few slices of pickled jalapeño, but it all works together with lightly cooked...(and very fresh) mixed local vegetables and potatoes. Our host (and waiter) was genial and happy to talk. The Michelada I ordered based on a previous review was a tasty departure from the national beer, which is a bit bland for my taste.More

Nice place, I had the Jalapeño fish fillet plate. Super yummy garlic butter cooked fish, with cold beer. What more could you want!

My husband and I kept returning to Chinandegano for meals and refreshments. Every item ordered was good. Try something with the jalapeno sauce and you will probably like it. The view while you are eating is overlooking the river and is very relaxing. The beer...is the coldest in town!More

Great terrace, really relaxing ! The rooms are nice but the walls are fin and insects can come trough the ceiling easily. Thanks to the mosquito net, no problem ! Owner is helpful and welcoming !

Yes, it serves typical Nicaraguan food, but it's a cut above the average and the owner was super friendly. We loved the jalapeno chicken and fish!

ask for fish or shrimps (shrimp is seasonal), fried fish is our favorite, service is fantastic. They also have vegetarian options

We ordered a steamed fish and it came overcooked. It was terrible, barely edible. It was one of the worse food experiences that I had in my entire life. Even the rice was bland. Very slow service. They get credit card payments (no fees).

Sympathetic staff and good Nica food. Located right on the river, and with an accordingly great view. A bit hidden, but well worth a meal or two.

We loved this spot and when we make it back to El Castillo we'll make bee line for their micheladas. They were a perfect mix of lime, tomato, spicy, and general umami. The food was awesome (pollo jalapeño!). I really enjoyed the gentleman waiting the...tables and his blend of service and friendliness. Just a great spot to eat. Maybe next trip we'll sleep there, too. (We heard good things form another traveler.)More
