We went to Citra for dinner and it wasn’t as great as we expected. The place is lovely and the ambience is very relaxed. The food was average. While the menu says that their platters are for sharing , the portions are quite small and...are not ideal for sharing. We had one starter and one main ; both of which were alright. The presentation of the food was average and the meals were served quite fast. Not quite what we expected from a restaurant that is fancier than most places in Ahangama. The saving grace of the night was the chocolate cremeux which was decadent and delicious. Note - all the prices are in USD .More

Wonderfully curated environment outside of the Guantanamo bay style playlist that ruled the atmosphere at our table. Songs would range from Son of a Preacher man to Salsa to some ancient middle eastern Traditional. The music was so back and forth between genres it was...hard to even focus on the food. When asked if this restaurant is a seafood restaurant they quickly said no yet almost every single dish contains fish... no chicken or beef or lamb... just fish. They call themselves a Patisserie but not one french dessert could be found. I ate here 3 years ago and had a great experience but things have clearly changed. The food came in incredibly small portions, was overpriced and pretentiously labeled in American dollars. Service was way to slow to be charging such high prices considering the portions were so small. overall disappointmentMore

I really enjoyed the place, but it’s not that worth it. We came for a dinner, had a nice time, but there was no tea or coffee with the sweet things, only water and alcohol which is uncomfy The food was nice and delicious, but...not that special. Citra has all the makings for a wonderful restaurant in Sri Lanka but sadly is let down by a few large obstacles. Firstly the food is served at record speed it’s like dinning in a fast food restaurant, don’t expect a lovely leisurely dinner over...nice wine your in and out within 40-50minutes. I understand staffing can be tricky in Sri Lanka as things are done differently but when you ask for your second course to come not within 3 minutes of finishing your first course and it still does there is clearly a breakdown of communication. The food is fine, small portions and nice enough, definitely not mind blowing in any way. We started with The focaccia its more a floury flat bread with no raising agent but the dips were good, the starter of white tuna was very sweet and not spicy or balanced enough and a simple green salad, guys buy a salad spinner please. The mains of the agnolotti tasted good but the shape is lazy and the catch of the day with very little amount of over cooked veg a lazy cauliflower purée and bad platting was disappointing but I must say the fish was cooked well. We finished with a banana fritter which was also fine. One cocktail each and a bottle of red all came to just under $150.00 To sum it up, I think if you are from Israel then you’ll probably go as it felt like everyone new each other and a community space for locals from home, a man walked around hugging everyone but if you aren’t it felt a little misbalanced.More

The food was truly amazing, and the quality of the place in overall is perfect. The owners of the place are there taking care of everything, which is shown how much they care. My favorites dishes are the Fish Cigars and the Pasta Tears. Amazing!

One of the nicest places to eat in the Ahangama area. Staff are lovely and the owner/manager is usually present, always a good sign. A little pricey but good for a date night.

We visited Citra for a family dinner and we just went crazy! Whoever created this place, from the design and the thought of every detail to the amazing food we ate, is simply amazing. Enjoyed every dish and of course the friendly service, the experience...we had there is beyond any dining experience we experienced in Sri Lanka. Well done!More
