Brasserie style restaurant, excellent meat, home made fries. fresh salad, serious dessert buffet, in a nice environment, one of my favorites around bordeaux. Reserve as it is a popular place for people living nearby.

We stayed in the St James and we had a diner in this typical French bistrot because the restaurant in he hotel was closed, and I don't regret this experience. Food was very good, quality food and very nice service. Recommended !

Duck entrecote, ham iberico, argentinian entrecote black angus for 2, ... with butternut puree, fries and green salad. This was our perfect dinner for 5 in the real-wood-chimney private room. They do have a fish on the menu as well as interesting starters and desserts including a starters buffet and a desserts one. Well done particularly that it is located... More

Everything here is in French. The staff was great doing their best to interpret the menu for us. Once we chose, the food and service and wine was great. Not fancy but good local fresh food.

It is true that there isn't a huge choice of restaurants in Bouliac, however this deserves a full excellent rating. The menu is fairly traditional so no exotic dishes, however all cooked perfectly and especially with great ingredients. We had a full à la carte menu and everything was very good, apart maybe the moelleux au chocolat, which was lukewarm... More

There are a lot of different sections to this quaint restaurant and it is amazing how many people it can cater for. The lamb kebab was so tender and the frites were awesome. We then decided on the buffet for dessert. There must be around 18 little tasters like Mini Iles Flotantes and you can have as many as you... More

Thank you for a most delightful evening. Our meal was superb but the generosity of Gabriel to get us to our accommodation as a taxi was not available was kindness itself, so thank you!!!! The Knight family Cape Town South Africa

Sleepy little town Bouliac has but a few eateries, and this one is likely the best. This is a cafe affiliated with the Saint James hotel just up the street. The appetizer/hors d'ouvres cold buffet was full of colorful local choices and quite tasty. Entree of beef tenderloin and foie gras was delicious. The beef itself was somewhat tough even... More

We arrived early on Sunday for lunch. We sat outside on the heated terrace. Buffet on offer, for a starter was nice, with plenty veggies and sea food. Main course my blue steak tartar was excellent and the meat served for the others(3) in our group was very good, the cooking was exactly what they wanted. The deserts oh la... More

This is one of the best authentically French (and reasonably priced) restaurants in/around Bordeaux. It is a million miles away from the stuffy, often pretensious, restaurants that sometimes appear under a heading like 'one of the best', just a simple and well-run 'cafe-bistrot' of the kind you recognize as being of interest becaus, for one thing, it is full of...
