We had a very nice lunch here. My wife had a nice salad and glass of wine. I had lasagna, a small salad and a glass of wine. We also treated our guide to lunch but I do not remember what he ate. It was about 43 euros for the three of us (including the wine for my wife and... More

I felt that the price, food options and service exceeded my expectations for a tourist location. Perhaps because I'm comparing it to what you get from Xanterra in the US at National Parks so I set the bar too low. Met our needs since we still wanted to enjoy the ruins a couple of more hours and didn't want to... More

The maps at Ostia Antica show a bar/restaurant and toilets and when you need either, this is the place. Wine, beer, ice cream and snacks are their forte'. Sit outside or inside. Buy a t-shirt next door at the souvenir store.

The ruins at Ostia Antica are just that - ruins - so the best thing to do is pack a picnic lunch. There are even a few places just outside the gates where you can pick up something to eat, but if you should forget, then this cafe will supply a quick bite (and/or drink), albeit at a price. Generally... More

For a restaurant in the middle of such an ancient site it serves some reasonable stuff but it was very crowded and a bit grubby when we got there

We arrived at the cafe at about 14:00 after a couple of hours looking around the archaeological site. There didn't seem to be much appetising to eat but the drinks were reasonably priced considering that the cafe has a monopoly within the site.

Visited Ostia Antica yesterday, and needed a lunch and drink (particularly since it was pretty hot) so stopped by the cafeteria inside the park. Had a so-so lasagna (microwaved) and eggplant salad, two sodas and a water, price was just under 20 euros. The cafeteria is convenient, but you would be better off bringing in a lunch and having a... We've stayed in Italy for a week so we decided to visit the Ostia Antica's archeological excavations. After visiting the place we were hungry so we went to this caffetteria in order to having a menu. I chose some pasta cooked in the oven. The poor quantity of pasta they put on my plate was like a raw dough with... More

From some of the other reviews on here, I'm not sure what people expect of this place. It is the only cafe in the scavi site for Ostia Antica so of course prices will be higher compared to a cafe in the middle of the town. However, I found the cafe to be very clean and nicely air conditioned which... More

This is inside the ruins and after walking on the hot summer weather it is a good spot for an ice cream and water break. Food did not seem to be appetizing so we only had the gelato and some water. Gelato was good, but is there any bad gelato in Italy?
