We had read the reviews about this restaurant and wanted somewhere for our 45th wedding anniversary meal.
This restaurant did not disappoint us.
I had one of the 2 specials of the day, a roasted pork knuckle (€16.50) and my wife had the Leg of Lamb (€22.50).
Both came with a small amount of veg (potato, stewed apple, half a small roasted beetroot & a carrot) with the pork.
Potato, Cauliflower and broccoli with the lamb.
We weren’t hungry enough for starter or dessert.
A bottle of Cava (€13.50) with the meal to celebrate, although the poor waitress did struggle to remove the cork, it was certainly wedged in, suddenly a great pop and the cork goes flying; it brought a smile to the other patrons faces (or a heart attack when it went a POP).
Great food, lovely aspect looking out to sea.
Certainly worth the extra cost for a special occasion or if money is no issue.

Me and my parents visited Alecrim a few times during our holiday, and it is honestly one of the nicest restaurants we’ve ever been too. The food was absolutely perfect and couldn’t be faulted. I have a-lot of food intolerances which makes it very difficult and stressful to eat out, but the owner was so lovely and accommodating. It was actually enjoyable to eat out. I wouldn’t bother eating out at any of the big overpriced chain restaurants, Alecrim’s has by far the best food and service in the area and you know you are supporting a small deserving business. We will definitely be back lots on our next visit! Thank you

A new restaurant with great ocean views.
The Lady of the house is Brazilian, & her husband, the chef, is Canarian.
The service from our Brazilian host was certainly very special
The menu is very selective, & certainly not pub grub.
Mrs B's Pork Chop & my 1/2 pounder burger were extremely tasty & very well presented.
Prices are on the higher end of the market, but still very good value for money.

We've been to this restaurant a couple of times and the food has been great on both occasions - especially the octopus. But I'm afraid the service is so slow it does spoil the occasion especially on our most recent visit. We had booked and two of us even pre-ordered our dishes to make sure we could get what we wanted but it still took over an hour to get our meals. That was after waiting nearly 15 minutes to be asked what we would like to drink after being seated. I cannot fault the food but they definitely need a couple more staff as we weren't the only customers kept waiting. The lady serving us was quite grumpy as I'm sure other tables had been complaining about the wait.

As you point out you came in an extremely busy day in the midle of the rushest hour, thus maybe the longer wait that migh have been also due to some member of the staff leaving without notice.

We ordered a starter and 2 main courses but the starter of fish croquettes took ages to arrive. Noticed that other diners that entered the restaurant after us getting served before us. The main course of lamb was nuce though a bit fatty and the vegetables were delicious but cold. Husband said his steak was OK. Seems a popular place as there was a steady stream of people being turned away. Wasn't the WOW I was hoping for.

Dear customer. We thank you for your feedback that may help us improve. We work very hard to ensure always the bests of quallityes using just the best local ingredients. As you well pointed, you came in a very busy day and in the midle of the rush hour, in your case the croquets did take longer than usual because they first were overcooked, so as not to send them this way and ensure the standart of quality, that we love to offer to all our guests, we did fry a new batch so they would be perfect for you, sorry for the delay. The slow cooked lamb leg in port wine is fresh national, grassfed lamb, best quality available, as well as the steak. The vegetables are freshest from local farmers market and we choose them carefully to be the freshest and tastiest, My feeling about your feedback is that expectations were maybe too high besides the fact of comming at the busiest hour on a very busy day. We apologise for the disappointment and will continue to work harder and smarter to make sure that you and other customers might be delighted by our humble offer in next visits.

I don’t like to judge a restaurant based upon one visit where possible. Thankfully we visited the restaurant twice, that way I get a good idea of the consistency offered.
Staff were amazing, you get a real feel that this means more to them then just serving food to the masses. They genuinely care about their produce and you get the distinct feeling that you have been welcomed in to their home.
The food was amazing. All of the dishes we ordered over the two visits exceeded our expectations. Locally sourced produce cooked with care and consideration.
We were booked in at the all inclusive hotel up the road but such was the quality of the dining experience we could not help but spend our last night in Tenerife at an establishment that provided an amazing dining experience.
Value for money is a very subjective thing, but for us, we did not feel the meals overpriced at all, especially if you tried to order similar dishes in the UK at the same quality.
Highly recommended.

We visited the "number 1" restaurant in Golf Del Sur in October 2021 with friends and family.
We have been coming to Golf Del Sur for 20 years and we were keen to try somewhere new and well reviewed.
Unfortunately Alecrim really is not the number 1 restaurant in GDS by a long shot.
From start to finish the meal and wine were of a poor standard.
When the house red comes chilled and without a label you can be sure you are in for a rough night. It was absolutely awful, tasted like a flavoured oil, do stay away from the house red. The house white is vina albali which is 3 euros in the hyperdino up the road so that says it all.
The pastry on the starter was pale and undercooked. For main all but one of us had the sirloin steak which looked like it had been kicked around a bit before it was served.
So much fat on it and what steak there was unfortunately didn't taste of much. The side of FIVE uncooked chips stacked on top of each other was quite laughable. My wife got 6 so she was incredibly lucky.
Everyone felt their steak was very poor and the one member who had a burger thought it was solid but unspectacular.
The desserts were a chocolate brownie and a crumble which you would feel would be hard to get wrong. Unfortunately they were also poor with the crumble being overcooked and the brownie tasting like a bottle of amaretto and very little chocolate.
The service was good and the location and setting of the restaurant is nice and that made it an enjoyable evening, but the food was just average at the very best and the wine dreadful.
I do not write poor reviews lightly but I cant say it was in any way good when it was not.
There are at least 10 better eateries within a mile of Alecrim.

We thank you for your feedback thay may help us improve? We were very sorry to recieve your harsh critic today. We work very hard to allways ensure the best of quallity to all of our customers. We have reviwed every point of your feedback whith our team wich has all been so affected with this poor review. We are also so very sorry you wouldn't rise a complaint because we woud have done anything in our power to improve your experience.
However sorry we are, we really do not totally undertand or share many of your concerns.
Our house red, (there are two options, but let's talk about the one without lable) is our family wine from La Matanza, and as you may have seen in other reviews highly apreciated by many customers and guests who even come specially for the wine, It is perfectly kept in our bodega at optimal tasting temperature 18 degrees celcious, but we undertand this might not be ideal for someone used to drink warmer red wine?
Regarding the white wine, yes it is viña Albali, wich is a well known white, that offers excelent quality price and yes! you may buy it for 3 euros in hiperdino.. Anyways if you were not happy with the house wines we have a very nice selection of other wines you could have choosen from, although, i am sorry to infornm, all of them reds perfectly chilled at 18 degrees celcious annnd whites at 9.
Regarding the steaks i feel so sorry about this feedback, we literally fight with our providers constanly looking for the best steaks and peaces of beef available in Tenerife. The fat you talk about is exacly what makes our european grassfed sirloin steaks so special and tasty, if you didn'd want any fat maybe should have asked for a different cut?.... Maybe you had them well done and therefor the funny feeling?And as asaid before if you would have risen concern with our team we would have done anithing posssible to improve your experience.
Regarding the chips, they are handcut olive oil fried pont neuf potatoes, and for sure if you would have wanted extra we wuold have provided. But also about this you wouldn also let our tem know, although you describe it as good (the service). And then, after having such a bad experience with the steaks and the starters and the wine, why would anyone go for desserts?? desserts that are so beloved by other customers and guest that they would even come only for them...
So again, we are very sorry that we couldn't please you although we allways give our best. we hope that you may come another time and we may be able to give out a better impression.

The restaurant was closed when we arrived in the resort, but opened on the Wednesday evening and so we popped in and we weren’t disappointed. It was busy and with just one lady waiting on we thought we may have quite a wait, but it was fine and she was clearly very efficient front of house. We skipped starters and went straight for mains, I chose Swordfish steak which came with roast like potatoes and a salad along with tartare sauce and was a very nice dish. My wife chose chicken with ham and cheese, it was a very large piece of chicken and came with some posh chips and was thoroughly enjoyed and I had to finish it off as it was such a large chicken portion.
Unfortunately, we were too stuffed for puds, which was a shame as I would have loved to have tried the apple crumble, but next time. With a couple of glasses of wine a coffee and some water it came to a very reasonable €35 which I thought was very good indeed.
Well worth a visit if in resort, but be warned you may need to book, it’s that good.

Wow, this food was the best that my wife and I had on Teneriffe. First I thought that the price was high, but for this 5* food it was in a very good price range. We enjoyed the fresh fish a lot. Many thanks go to the cook who decorated the fish plate with lots of love and passion. One of the best choices of today. ❤️

After a few visits to Gold de Sur, I’m not sure how we only just managed to find this gem!
The staff were really enthusiastic and attentive. Most importantly for us, the kids food was really lovely so we all felt we were really cared for. The staff were amazing with our little boy (who can’t sit still for long and loves to drive his hot wheel cars all over the table) and he really enjoyed his food which was a nice change to the usual deep fried options elsewhere. Best sangria I’ve had!
It was a little more expensive than other places but absolutely worth every penny, the food was presented well and absolutely delicious.
Would highly recommend! Reserve a table to avoid disappointment.

Located at seafront next to Amarilla Golf and Marina we found one of the best Restaurants today May 1rst. Never expected such a stunning quality and service among the usual tourist restaurants. We went for Lunch. My Pork Chop was served under a cover of fresh smoke. Just delicious. The fish plate was excellent too. Service very kind. All this at fairly reasonable prices. Go and find out. They deserve it and you deserve it.

We arrived for our pre booked table at 730. Ordered our meals and sat enjoying the ambiance waiting for our bread starter. After about 25 mins we noticed a couple sitting front of us who had arrived 15 min after us were tucking into a bread starter ,we questioned the waiter nicely. Firstly he said that we didn’t order a starter in a rude and arrogant way - he then realised that he had given our starter to the wrong table. After waiting another 15 min we asked again to be told “it’s coming”. After another 5 mins I explained my husband was diabetic and needed some food - the response to this was , “it’s in the oven what can I do “. It’s now 830 and had no food. Eventually we got our bread at 840. Had to wait another 20 mins for our mains but to be honest after so long a wait we had lost our appetites and left about half of our food.
Food was just ok, but my veg was brick hard. Profuse apologies ensued from the one friendly female member of staff who was honestly so lovely and indeed even finally from the arrogant waiter.
We were actually offered our food tor free but I refused and insisted on paying for what we had.
Such a shame to be let down by an unprofessional waiter and slow kitchen . We have eaten here before but won’t be back. We cancelled another booking we made for this week for 4 people and would have visited again as a group of 8. Not after that service.
Will not be back so disappointed was one of our favourites .

I am so sorry and sad to read your feedback. I sincerely apologise for the dissapointment. We are learning from it and making the due and necessary changes on the team. We work very hard to source allways the best ingredients and produce beautifull fresh food. I am perfectly aware of your situation as the waiter, the one you rightfully critisiced, decided to bring your food to another table that had the same order as you, and that had come a half an hour later than you. The reason? I can't possibly know but we have come to know that he was acting wrong on purpose. My wife tried to make amends by offering you the meal for free and we are so unpleased that you wouldn't accept our offer and have come to take revenge on us on the media. Errare humanum est . We hope that you may give us another opportunity so that you can enjoy our beautifull gastronomy in a more relaxed and harmonious way.

This could be a 5 star review and given it’s a new restaurant I believe the owners are just finding their feet and can address the minor matters. The food is good, we had steak and fish of the day. Portions were good and menu choice sufficient. The house wine was very good and setting pleasant. The downside was service. The owner was simply over stretched as she tried to manage a full restaurant of customers. She was very polite but was so busy she couldn’t provide the customer service this restaurant deserves. One more staff member would have helped. Small details like providing wine list, salt&pepper and ordering more drinks (losing income) we’re difficult due to one staff member being overstretched. I would strongly recommend this restaurant, with a bit more front of house staff it can be one of the best in the area.

This was the best meal we've had in a long time - we couldn't fault it! My sea bream with sweet potatoes was cooked to perfection, as was my husband's slow cooked local pork. The Rioja was delicious too. Our only regret - that we had just one night in the area before flying back to the UK following a trip to La Gomera. We would have loved to return and try some of the other dishes on the menu! Highly recommended.

The food is just brilliant. It's served in a fine dining manner but they are real portions that leave you full. The specials are delicious and exciting. On one occasion I had the surf and turf and on another I had swordfish. Absolutely brilliant. The food is the most expensive of the restaurants in the area but with such great food I didn't mind on 2 occasions out of the 14 days we were there. The owner has a great sense of humour and speaks great English
